November 5, 2022 Breakfast - Lax and Bagels. Lunch - Cream of Pumpkin Soup. Dinner - Fried Oysters with Seaweed Salad. Snack - Taramosalata with crackers

What a wild day of food.  When Suzette left at 10:00 to visit craft shows in Rio Rancho I toasted two slices of a bagel and spread them with cream cheese and garnished them with slices of red onion and Gravad lax and a few capers and drank two cups of chai to wash them down.

Today was another wonderful when my two alma maters won, TCU beat Texas Tech.

Shortly after I finished my bagel Suzette returned hungry and processed the pumpkin soup.  She sautéed carrot, ginger, and red onion and then pureed them in the Cuisinart with some chicken stock she made by add dehydrated chicken stock to hot water and after everything was pureed again she added some heavy cream.  At 1:00 she and ate a bowl of soup.

Here is the empty casserole Suzette made the soup in after she saved the soup.

After TCU won then No. 3 Georgia played No. 1 Tennessee and Georgia won.

Then at 3:30 Suzette fried seven oysters she bought at the Los Lunas Smith’s at a discount on her way home yesterday.

She coated them in flour and then dipped them in whisked egg and then rolled them in crushed saltine crackers and then fried them.

We ate them with seaweed salad.  They were delicious with the tartare sauce Suzette made by combining lemon juice, Pickle relish, horseradish and mayonnaise.

Then at 5:30 we drove to Popejoy for the Banonaneon covert by NMPhilharmonic.  We left at intermission, a little tango goes a long way.

We got home in time to watch No. 25 Texas beat No. 19 Kansas State, Notre Dame best No. 4 ranked Clemson and LSU beat No. 3 Alabama in overtime.

Since three teams ranked higher than unbeaten TCU lost, it is had to imagine that TCU will not move up in next week’s AP Rankings.

We also watched game 6 of the World Series played in Houston, which the Astros won to win the World Series. The Astros are the best team in baseball this year and deserved to win.

At 3:00 I drank a glass of Vietnamese coffee with 2/3 cup of coffee and a heaping at. of condensed milk, so I had a buzz going all evening.

When we returned home at 7:30 I made myself a mint julep with bourbon, mint syrup, a splash of soda water and lots of ice and took the second dose of collagen, turmeric, and Tylenol.

So I felt good and walked with little pain the rest of the evening.

When the baseball game ended we watched the episode of La Brea that we missed last week and went to bed at 10:20 and we snacked on multigrain crackers and I dipped mine into taramosalata.

Suzette slept and I blogged.

Bon Appetit
