I awakened at 5:30 to check the news and market.  Thank god the market turned up after three down days.

The big news was that another Trump lawyer, Jenna Ellis, pled guilty to one felony count in the Georgia racketeering case. In her statement to the court she said she was misled by her senior lawyers.  Although she did not name them, they would appear to be John Eastham and Rudy Giuliani.

I rode 1.50 miles on the recumbent bike and then cut my leg when I dismounted.

I took a shower and dressed the wound and elevated my leg for about an hour to stop the bleeding.

Then I made brunch around 11:00. I fried a smoked Pork Cutlet and two eggs over easy and toasted three small slices of bread that I buttered and spread with orange marmalade and made a cu off ginger Earl Grey tea with milk.

I then prepared a letter and at 12:30 filed a document in a probate case.

At 2:30 I checked the market and my portfolio was up .7%.

Suzette came home around 3:30 with the ingredients for the appetizer for the Spanish meal, Broiled anchovies, burrata, Romesco sauce, and she cut tiny slices of asparagus.

I watched Ari at 4:00 and de-boned the leftover steamed Bonito and at 5:00 I meditated for 25 minutes.

After I meditated I watched TV and later Suzette made fish cakes by processing the fish with saltine crackers, an egg, and some paprika.

She then sautéed the fish cakes in olive oil and served them with steamed asparagus and the leftover crab sauce (a mixture of shallot, lime juice, catsup and mayonnaise.)

We opened a bottle of Hermann Wiemer dry Riesling that is slightly sweet, but also has good minimality.

Here are the tasting notes:

The Riesling Dry is our signature wine. Sourced from each of our three distinct vineyard sites, it epitomizes Riesling's dynamic range. Layers of citrus, stone, and tropical fruit are underpinned by taut acidities and a clean mineral finish. "The ripe fruit is almost tropical in its golden hue... It's plush but finishes racy and firm..." 93 Points (Best Buy) Wine & Spirits Magazine

This is one of our favorite wines.  I may buy a case of it.

We agreed that we loved the fish cakes with the crab sauce.

And the asparagus we had bought at Costco were the bigger thicker ones that are more tender that we prefer.

After dinner we watched a bit of news and then two more episodes of Lupin where he saves his mother from criminals trying to kill him.

We sipped a small amount of cognac with one of the chocolate cream cookies we bought at Talin for dessert while we watched TV.

Suzette went to bed at 9:30 and I blogged and read until 11:30.

Some days the cooking and creating the ingredients or a dish is the most fun and some days the eating of great food is the most fun.  Today both the challenge of creating fish cakes from a tough dense bony steamed fish and enjoying the result of excellent fish cakes with a great Riesling were very satisfying.

Bon Appetit
