November 13, 2020 Lunch – Butternut Squash Soup and Ham and cheese sandwiches a Amy’s. Dinner – Center for Ageless Living PPI Gumbo
I ate fruit salad, yogurt, milk, and granola for breakfast. Suzette ate just fruit salad and yogurt.
Suzette went to work and returned at 11:30. We then drove to Amy and Vahl‘s house at Eldorado outside Santa Fe. Amy had set the patio table and made ham and cheese sandwiches and Butternut squash soup. Both were delicious. She had baked the squash in the oven and that had released its natural sweetness.
After lunch at about 2:00 we drove to Peters Santa Fe Auction warehouse a block from Cerritos and the Indian School to view the art being offered tomorrow.
There was one piece Suzette liked by a female artist. Liked lots of pieces but I have lots of taxes due that need to be paid and I have an appointment in the morning during the auction.
After viewing the art we drove to Stephens Consignment and then back to Albuquerque. We stopped at the lamp shop to pick up my lamp and then Talin on the way home. Suzette bought lots of Indian lentils, Japanese panko, and Chinese five spice powder for soups at the Center. We bought a piece of pink grouper and a piece of yellowtail, a 25 lb. bag of jasmine rice from the 2020 crop, egg white noodles, oyster sauce, Taka Choy, ginger, and leeks.
We arrived home at 5:30 after a full day. We each drank a cocktail and watched the news until 6:45 when Suzette heated a quart container f gumbo she brought home from the Center. She added PPI cooked rice to it and heated it in the Pyrex loaf pan in the microwave..
I fetched Negra Modelo beers from the garage. The gumbo was spicy but full of chicken, shrimp, and sausage. It was delicious and I ate two bowls of it.
It was an instant meal, but real home cooking.
After dinner we watched Rachel, then Washington Week, and then three episodes of Emily in Paris.
We went to bed at 10:00 although I stayed up to blog for a while.
Bon Appetit
