July 5, 2024 Breakfast - Deviled Pickled Eggs and Toast with mandarin jam and cheese  Lunch - Shake Foundation, Santa Fe. Dinner - Chello Grill Take out

We got up around 7:30 and ate a small breakfast. I ate two slices of toasted French Sour Dough boule smeared with mandarin jam and garnished with goat Gouda plus several Pickled Deviled eggs.

Suzette then did laundry and cleaned while I showered and dressed and watched Spain beat Germany in Euro Cup in the round of 16.  It was a very exciting game and Suzette watched for a while. When everything was clean and the match ended and the beds made we left for Santa Fe around 11:30.

We stopped at Stephen Kilborn’s Studio in Embudo and bought a mug for Linda’s birthday.

Suzette wanted a hamburger and I recalled that Barry had mentioned that Shake Foundation on Cerrillos had lobster rolls.  We checked the menu and saw that the restaurant served fried oyster poor boy sandwiches, which sounded fabulous, so we drove there. As I turned out they no longer served oysters, so we chose hamburgers, Suzette chose a single patty cheeseburger and I chose a double patty cheeseburger with lettuce and a slice of onion and tomato. The cool seating area was picnic tables arranged under a grove of trees. Suzette thought the meat tasted bland, but I hardly spent and time to critique the meat, as I wolfed my burger down, perhaps because I added Mayo and catsup to my burger

We asked for cups with ice and Suzette fetched a bottle of Kirkland Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand from the ice chest in our car that we drank with our hamburgers like a wine spritzer.

We then drove home, arriving around 3:30. Later Willy called and asked about dinner. We said we had no plan. Willy suggested he go pick up some Persian food at Chello Grill.  We agreed, so we had a plan.  We ordered the  three kabob dinner with three sides for $20.99, one beef with onions (koolbiden kabob) and two chicken kabobs plus a piece of balklava, a chocolate filled dessert, and two coconut stuffed dates. When Willy arrived we discovered he had ordered several additional items.  Besides the beans, rice, and a a cucumber and yogurt dip, plus 3 pitas that came with the meal, he ordered a small hummus and an order of fesenjan (a dish made from pomegranate and walnuts).

We watched Canada beat Venezuela in overtime on penalty kicks and then Willy left and we went to bed.

I checked my stock portfolio and discovered that in my absence on the third and fifth combined it increased by 2%.

Later I ate the piece of baklava left from dinner with a cup of tea and went to bed at midnight.

Bon Appetit
