December 20, 2023 Lunch - East Ocean Deep Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables. Dinner - Goulash with Spaghetti
The most fun food stuff today was unrelated to the two meals.
I ate granola with yogurt and some fruit salad with milk for breakfast.
Lunch was spent in a deep discussion of a case with Robert over an order of Deep Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables at East Ocean. We always order the dish. Today the waitress simply asked, “Deep Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables” and we nodded our heads.
After lunch I drove to El Super to shop. I wanted to make tabouli, so I bought vine ripe tomatoes, green onions, two cucumbers, and three bunches of parsley. I also bought broccoli, four small avocados, a head of romaine lettuce, mushrooms, leeks, yogurt, sour cream, beautiful green beans, cilantro, radishes, lemons, sweet lemons, oranges, gala apples, red onions, brown onions, a cauliflower, True Blue Sandwich cookies, China peas, and Persian cucumbers.
When i arrived home at 2:45 Suzette helped me unload.
I then rested and drank a cup of tea and called a client about a case.
Then at 4:00 I started watching the news. The big story is what the U.S. Supreme Court will do with the two big vases now pending, the Jan. 6 litigation issue raised by that he is immune from prosecution for actions he took during his Presidency, including organizing an insurrection and the other issue that was raised on Friday by the Colorado Supreme Court, that since Trump took a oath of office to support the Constitution and then participated in an insurrection against the U.S. Constitution is he disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment from seeking public office. The decision of the Colorado Supreme Court was that Trump’s name should be removed from the primary ballot because he supported in insurrection after taking an oath to support the Constitution.
At 5:00 I started making tabouli. I soaked a cup of No. 2 bulgur in hot water for about thirty minutes, while diced about a dozen green onions, two vine ripe tomatoes, two bunches of parsley, and a handful of fresh mint plus juice of a lemon and a drizzle of good olive oil. We drizzled with Spanish Carbonell olive oil we bought in Spain. It allowed the flavors to stand out. The tabouli was delicious.
Suzette heated up the PPI goulash and spaghetti at 7:00 with which we drank the last of the 2018 Olarra Reserva Rioja.
Tomorrow night I will make potato and leek soup.
I finally went to bed at 11:30.
Dinner was rather anti-climatic, reheated PPI Goulash and spaghetti with the last half bottle of 2018 Olarra Reserva Rioja.
We watched news on MSNBC and “fix my wrecked house” on HGTV channel.
Suzette went to sleep at 9:30 and I stayed up to blog.
