 July 3, 2023 Breakfast - Lax and Bagels. Lunch - Izanami at Ten Thousand Waves. Dinner - Shrimp and Dirty Rice


Today was an all seafood birthday.


It started with lax and pan toasted bagels spread with cream cheese and lavender tea and coffee.







We then drove up to the Santa Fe Ski Basin, which was closed but stopped a lovely scenic view on the way down, before we arrived at Ten Thousand Waves at around 11:30.





Since Suzette had scheduled a 90 minutes for 1:45 we decided to eat lunch at noon when their restaurant, Izanami, opened and then soak and cancel our dinner reservation.


When we saw the menu the choices were easy.  I ordered  Chirashi and Suzette ordered Grilled Octopus with sautéed potatoes and aioli sauce.


I ordered green tea and Suzette ordered a cold sake.


Both dishes were fabulous. My Chirashi was unique because it was served with freshly ground wasabi from fresh roots imported from Japan and a very interesting pile of wakame seaweed salad plus three slices each of Aji tuna, salmon, and Hamachi (Yellowtail).


The rice was also good sprinkled with roasted white and black sesame seeds. I shared the Chirashi with Suzette and she shared her octopus with me for a wonderful seafood lunch.  







After lunch we soaked until 3:15 in our own private tub area that included a hot tub, a cold plunge, a sauna, and a bathroom with a shower.




After the soak Suzette drove the camper home without further incident.


When we arrived home at 4:30 we rested and snacked on chicken liver salad on crackers.


I watched Stage 3 of the Tour and ate the last of the Shrimp with dirty rice for a light dinner and an orange for dessert later.


Luke, Willy, and Billy all called to wish me a happy birthday, which was lovely.


We did not get much sleep last night so Suzette went to bed at 8:30 because she will have a busy day tomorrow and I went to bed after the bike race replay ended at 11:00 and finished this blog at 11:45.
