January 22, 2022 Breakfast  - Salmon, Artichoke heart, goat cheese, mascarpone cheese, and red onion omelet. Lunch at Amy’s,   Dinner - Corn Bread

I watched a thrilling match between Man U and West Ham today. Finally, in the last minute of overtime Man U scored to win 1 to 0.

I then took a shower and Suzette cooked breakfast. She made an awesome huge omelet with some of the PPI teriyaki salmon, the last of the artichoke hearts, some goat cheese, and she mixed mascarpone with the whisked eggs to give them a creamy texture.  She toasted three slices of French baguette for me and I spread orange marmalade on them. Suzette drank a Bloody Mary and I drank a glass of Emma Riechard rose from Germany.

It was a lovely meal, after which we drove to Santa Fe because Amy had invited us for lunch.

We stopped at Stephen’s Consignment at 12:00 and spent an hour shopping because I bought a full sheet watercolor but Tom Noble from 1997 and we bought two leather chairs to replace the couch in the TV room.

We then drove to Amy’s and I walked about a mile and Suzette walked farther.

Amy cooked a lovely Indian meal of butter chicken, turmeric rice, naan, riata, and tomato and red bean Dhal.

She also served a wonderful Gewertztraiminir named Lovely that was a medium dry wine that went well with the spicy Indian food.

Suzette drove us back to Albuquerque and we arrived home at 4:30.

We were tired and lay down.  I watched the Cincinnati v. Tennessee AFC playoff.  It was a very exciting game that was tied 16 to 16 until a few second before the end of the game when Cincinnati kicked a field goal to win.

At 6:00 an even more exciting game was played in the NFC playoffs between Green Bay and San Francisco in frigid weather in Green Bay. Green Bay scored first and then late in the second quarter San Francisco kicked a field goal.  Then Green Bay kicked a field goal to go up 10 to 3 and it looked like Green Bay would win except with about 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter in a blowing snow storm San Francisco blocked a punt and took the ball in for a score to tie the score 10 to 10.

During the game I heated two slices of buttered corn bread and spread honey on them and drank a cup of chai for my dinner.

The ball changed possession several times but finally at the 2:00 warning  San Francisco took the ball down the field to the Green Bay 33 and with 6 seconds on the clock kicked a game winning 45 yard field goal.

It was inconceivable to me that San Francisco could beat Green Bay in zero degree weather in a snow storm in Green Bay but they did.

We then watched Death in Paradise and then we went to bed.

Bon Appetit
