February 13, 2022 Breakfast - Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, fruit salad, and waffles. lunch - Turkey, kale, sweet Potato, and Northern bean soup. Dinner - Supper Bowl Party

I showered and dressed and we went to breakfast in the dining room at 8:30.  Theresa a great spread of food but I tried to keep it simple.  I ate three waffles with syrup and blueberry compote, some scrambled eggs, a patty sausage, some fruit salad, orange juice, and tea.

We then drove to Colonial Williamsburg and bought a pass to the village, although we only wanted up to see three things.  We started at the Governor’s Palace and the went to the Amy Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum.  We ate a slice of chocolate cake and I drank a Pibb. Suzette drank a beer.

We then saw the most interesting thing of the day, a room full of a Hicks paintings, including five or six peaceful kingdom paintings. I thought there were 6. And we found out there are 60, but the composition changed over time.

After the museum we rode the shuttle bus to the Capitol, where the House of Burgesses met to hold high court and enact laws.

We were ready to leave after visiting our primary objectives.

We drove to Publix Supermarket to shop for Super Bowl snacks.  We bought a bottle of Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva, a 24 oz. Bag of roasted peanuts, Ute pretzels, six pack of Vienna lager, a wedge of Iberico, two goat cheeses, a baguette, an olive medley, and a 32 oz. Container of Turkey Sausage, kale, sweet potato, red bell pepper, and barley soup, which we ate for lunch immediately. The soup was hot and delicious.

We then drove across the street to a Chevron station and filled the gas tank and finally drove back to the B&B.

We rested and napped until 6:15 when we went down to join the family to watch the Super Bowl.  Everyone brought food and beverages. We sampled wings, corn chips, potato chips, besides our items.

We drank our wine and beer.

The game was close, but L.A. won in the end.

I was thrilled to Stafford.

After the game we went upstairs and watched Vienna Blood. Then zsuzette went to bed and I stayed up to blog and watch women’s Biathlon.

It was a pleasant, but cold day.  It snowed at 3:00, but that did not stop us.

Bon Appetit
