June 15, 2022 Cafe Lush - breakfast. Dinner - BLT Sandwiches and an ear of corn on the cob

June 15, 2022 Cafe Lush - breakfast. Dinner - BLT Sandwiches and an ear of corn on the cob

We went to get Willy’s food requests this morning.  We first went to Lowe’s where we bought ground turkey, taco shells, mangos, taco seasoning, Milano cookies, and Dijon Mustard potato chips.

We then went to Burque Bakery but it was closed.

We wanted to eat breakfast out and went to Curious Toast that was also closed, so we drove to Cafe Lush.  Suzette ordered the Breakfast Pizza, Sour Cream Scallion Potato Crust topped with eggs, house-made red or green chile and local cheeses. Served with tortilla, lettuce and tomato.

Suzette thought the menu said scalloped potatoes and was disappointed until she said, “I can make a better dish of scalloped potatoes than this.”  She formulated a new recipe for the Bistro.

I ordered the  French Toast, Breakfast bread pudding. Chunks of fresh cinnamon raisin bread mixed with coconut milk, eggs and apples. Topped with Lush Dust and Kahlua syrup.  It turned out to be more like a baked pancake stuffed full of deconstructed French Toast, apples, coco nut milk, and eggs.

I liked my French Toast and will order it again.  Suzette will order something different probably.

After breakfast we drove home and picked up mangoes, garlic, and ginger root and then took those items to Willy who tested positive for Covid after his big weekend in San Diego.

He seemed to be doing well.  I also talked to Brian, who is the downstairs tenant about doors and a food truck.

We arrived home a bit before noon.  I was tired and lay down and Suzette worked at her desk.

I went to the kitchen at 5:00.

I asked Suzette if she wanted a BLT for dinner because we had vine ripe tomatoes and lettuce.  She said, “Yes.”

Suzette started frying six slices of bacon and I fetched a bottle of Vara rose and two ears of white corn from the garage. Suzette toasted two slices of bread for each of us and fetched the Mayo, tomatoes, and washed and spun the lettuce and we each made our sandwiches.  Suzette made one sandwich and I made two open faced sandwiches.

She also boiled the four ears of corn.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner as we watched the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals between Colorado and Tampa Bay.

We are rooting for Colorado and they won in overtime, so yeah.

I ate two punch roller with tea and Calvados after dinner and then we soaked in the hot tub for a few minutes and then went to bed a bit before 10:00.

The Dow turned up 304 points in response to the fed raising nuts borrowing rate by .75%. Hopefully this the bottom?

Bon Appetit
