July 6, 2021 Lunch - Dolmas Salad. Dinner - PPI Crab, ham, and Corn Soup

July 6, 2021 Lunch - Dolmas Salad. Dinner - PPI Crab, ham, and Corn Soup

This was a quiet day.  The high point was walking a mile in the neighborhood and watching Mark Cavenish win his 33rd stage win in the Tour de France. One more win and he will tie Eddie Merckx’ record.  According to the announcers there are four more opportunities to win a sprint finish including on the Champs Elysees in Paris on the final day of racing.

Also this was a remarkable day in the market.  The Dow was down 209 points, the S and P was down 9 points, and the NASDAQ was up 24 points.

Luckily there were more ups than downs in my portfolio with Apple, Square, and Amazon leading the way.  My portfolio managed to rise .3% in an otherwise dismal day in the market, which was a remarkable result. The portfolio is up 14.75% so far this year.

I ate 1/2 of a blueberry muffin before I walked and consumed two sugar pills on the walk and was not hungry until 4:00 when I decided to eat a salad with dolmas, a diced tomato, a hard boiled egg, cucumbers, radishes and red leaf lettuce dressed with a Cesar dressing.

Suzette came home at 6:30 and we heated the PPI crab, corn, and ham soup for dinner and drank a glass of Crayon Rose ($7.99 at Trader Joe’s).

We watched Discovering Your Roots and Argentina vs Columbia in gold cup Soccer. Suzette went to bed at 9:00 and I followed at 10:00.

No dessert tonight.

It rained again this evening so the plants in the garden are loving this weather.

Bon Appetit
