May 8, 2025 Lunch - Costco Hot Dog. Dinner - Vietnamese Rice Noodle Soup
My sinus infection got worse today so I called for a video Doctor’s visit and was prescribed an antibiotic. I took the first one at 9:45. Here’s hoping it kicks in quickly.
I ate moderately all day.
For breakfast I ate granola, mango yogurt, milk, and blueberries.
I finished the Basque History by Kurlansky.
I went to my podiatry appointment at 11:00 and then to Costco where I bought two duck halves, more Kleenex, heavy cream, and twelve bottles of wine; four Albariño, two Kirkland Spanish Rioja, dry salami, three Rose of Provence, an Italian Cabernet Sauvignon and two Kirtland Pinot Grigio.
After I checked out I ate a hot dog and then drove home.
When I got home a bit after 1:00 and watched Man Union beat Athletica of Bilbao, a mostly Basque team 4 to 1 in a EUFA quarter final match.
I then discovered that I had a small gain in my portfolio after a huge sell off in the last five minutes before the Close.
I ate a slice of baguette garnished with three slices of salami, some Mayo and some German deli mustard and rested and then signed up for a video appointment to obtain an antibiotic at 3:30. A real life saver.
Suzette came home at 4:30 and I meditated at 6:30 and then picked up my antibiotic at Walgreen’s
She did not want to cook so I made a made a pot of rice vermicelli soup with some of the pork tenderloin she cooked yesterday, some slices of zucchini, two mushrooms sliced, a slice of onion minced, several slices of ginger, two cloves of garlic crushed, and some dehydrated chicken stock, 1/3 cube of Pho seasoning, and a T. of red miso. Suzette de-stemmed a handful of baby spinach that I added it at the end. I also thinly sliced two green onions for garnish. We added hoisin sauce to the soup.
It was wonderful to have some hot soup for dinner.
We watched Midsomer Murders and then Suzette went to bed and I watched an episode of Foyle’s War and then blogged and went to bed at midnight.
