July 15, 2026 Breakfast - Granola. Lunch - Spanakopita and Grape Suzette Salad. Dinner - Sautéed Hamburger with melted Manchego and sautéed Super Greens, baked potatoes, and onions and bread and butter pickles
I woke up at 6:45 determined to complete the edit of my pleading today.
I ate a bowl of granola with raspberries, blueberries, plain yogurt, and milk at 7:00.
Then I finished editing my pleading by noon which was perfect, because it allowed me to eat lunch and then watch the World Cup semifinal between England and Argentina at 1:00.
I heated the two pieces of leftover Spanakopita from Saturday and ate them with some leftover Grape Suzette Salad with a few bites of baklava for dessert.
During lunch I watched the highlights of Stage 11 of the Tour on You Tube and a lovely interview with Bob Roll who it turns out is a wine connoisseur.
Then at 1:00 I watched the match. It was still tied 0 to 0 at the half which occurred at 1:50, so I was able to watch the market close at 2:00 and check my portfolio. Both the NASDAQ and the Dow were up again today and my portfolio by .083%.
Then in the second half Argentina scored twice to win 2 to 1.
England will play France for third place on Saturday and Argentina will play Spain for the championship on Sunday, so a busy weekend.
I thawed out two hamburgers and then rested from 3:30 until 4:00 when I began reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen again for book club.
At 5:30 I went into the TV room and watched some news with Suzette. She found some super greens Willy had left and sautéed them with diced mushrooms, Vidalia onion, and diced baked potatoes in butter and olive oil.
I slice some Manchego cheese slices that’s Suzette melted on top of the hamburger. When the burgers were cooked and the vegetables sautéed . Suzette plated our plates with a pile of sautéed vegetables topped with the burger and a few slices of her homemade bread and butter pickles.
It was a beautifully presented dinner.
I poured glasses of the Ripassa Italian red wine I opened yesterday. Unfortunately it tasted a little flat compared to its vibrancy yesterday.
We watched Ticket to Paradise, a 2022 Julia Roberts and George Clooney romantic comedy at 7:30 on Netflix and went to bed at 9:15.
I Ate two squares of Belgium dark chocolate with Almonds with a sip of Maison Serene cognac during the movie, which included commercials.
Bon Appetit
