February 13, 2024 Lunch - Chicken Salad Salad. Dinner - PPI Mackerel with Rice, Beans, and Stir-fried Vegetables
This was an exciting day of activity and a created Use PPIs.
I ate a quick chocolate croissant and tea at 10:30 after being dazzled by the improbable surge in the market. Both Apple and Nvidia ended up over $4.00 with most other stocks in the green for a superb 1.9% increase in the portfolio. Even AT&T was up over 1%.
I completed the forms for registering my physical shares with the Securities Exchange Board of India and took them to DHL to courier to the third processing firm in Mumbai.
I then drove to Costco and picked up my prescription and stopped to talk to John Budagher and Ron, the Thursday regulars.
I then drove home, arriving at 1:20 and made a salad by adding romaine lettuce to the Chicken Salad salad left form lunch Tuesday.
I heated and enjoyed the leftover chili and cheese biscuits and buttered toast with the salad.
After lunch I made and drank a Vietnamese iced coffee and I worked on two projects in the afternoon until 4:00 when I watched Ari and at 4:20 walked about a mile in the neighborhood.
When I returned at 5:00 I read my book, The Left Hand of Darkness, until 6:15, when I joined Suzette to watch the news and cook dinner.
I wanted to convert the broiled Mackerel and sticky Rice and bean congee into a more edible dish. I diced three stalks of celery, four mushrooms, 1/2 of a yellow onion, three cloves of garlic, four slices of ginger, and a baby bok Choy. I stir fried those vegetables and then added the leftover rice and beans. I cooked that mixture for a few minutes and then added mackerel cubed by Suzette and finally the green tops of the bok Choy and about 2/3 cup of seasoning sauce combining Sesame oil, soy, Chinese Rice Wine, cornstarch and water to loosen up the dish.
The result was a success, a light brown sauce that broke apart the coagulated beans and rice and integrated them into a vegetable stir fried dish with a light sauce.
After dinner we watched Rachel until 8:00 when we watched a1998 episode of Midsomer Murders until 9:30 during which we ate the last of the cherry tart and the blueberry baked oatmeal.
At 9:30 we went to bed.
I feel like I am beginning to find my way through the Indian bureaucracy that seems rather efficient and modernized technologically. The PAN card application went well.
Now we will see how my application to register my physical shares goes. If that goes well then I should be able to dematerialize the shares if I can find an Indian brokerage firm to be my nominee. Then I will have direct access to the Bombay exchange to sell the shares.
Bon Appetit
