October 9, 2025 Breakfast - Granola, milk, yogurt, and Tropical Fruit Salad Lunch - Pho Lin with Robert. Dinner - Green Chili Cheese Hamburgers and an ear of corn

I ate granola with fruit salad for breakfast as the market opened.

Then I talked to Willy until about 8:45 as I watched Nvidia go up and Apple go down and that is how the day ended with the Dow down 244 points and the NASDAQ down 19 points, but Nvidia ending up $3.46, so my portfolio increased by .57%, which is a miracle.

At 11:15 I drove to Robert’s building on Wyoming and then we drove to Pho Lin where Zuni meets Central. I think Pho Lin is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant for Bun.  I ordered Bun with grilled pork and Shrimp and egg rolls. Robert, who is a vegetarian ordered a rice and vegetable stir fry.

                                                        The bun

The bun at Pho Lin is served on a plate in sections instead in three layers in a bowl. Noodles on one side, salad, mung bean sprouts, and herbs on the other with a pile of pickled vegetables on one side topped with four fried egg rolls, two grilled shrimp and a pile of grilled marinated pork. I loved it.

We celebrated the dismissal of a nuisance suit against Robert.

After lunch I went to Talin and bought two mackerel, firm tofu, Vietnamese Hu Tiu soup seasoning, beech mushrooms, and Singapore Bok Choy.

Then I drove home and filed a motion and then at 4:00 lay down and rested for 30 minutes and watched Ari for 30 minutes.

Then at 5:00 I walked in the neighborhood about 2500 steps that allowed me to reach 3700 steps for the day.

Some neighbors are ready for Halloween

When I returned Suzette had started dinner. She eats small lunches, so get hungry early in the evening.

She grilled two 1/4 lb. hamburgers and toasted buns on the grill while she boiled two ears of corn and boiled slices of onion to remove their sharp taste and sliced an avocado and peeled and cut a couple of green chilis into strips.

I poured out the rest of the bottle of 2016 Finca Los Princepes Gran Reserva Rioja.

When the hamburgers were cooked Suzette assembled the hamburgers and took pictures with the green chilis for ads for the Bistro that will feature green chili hamburgers next week and then added lettuce, spread romesco sauce on one side of each bun, and lay ears of corn on the blanched onion rings.

Suzette had bought roasted Limatar Green chili in the morning and brought some home to make a green chili hamburger so she could take a photo as it is the special next week at the bistro.

We rolled the ears of corn in butter and ate everything with gusto.

After dinner we watched a Thursday Night Football. A rejuvenated Giants team with a wonderful new quarterback, Jason Dart, and running-back Cameron Skatterbo ripped the Eagles to pieces in a 34 to 17 rout. We sipped small glasses of Tawny port, a new favorite drink for Suzette, although I love it also.

We watched the end of Midsomer Murders and then Suzette went to bed.

Then I watched Foyle’s War with Michael Kitchen, which one of my favorite shows. Tonight he outsmarted MI-6 to bring a German war criminal to Justice, which is hard to do.

I think Trump has finally crossed the line by ordering the Justice Department to prosecute Comey and James. If he is forced to bargain with the Democrats on health care and the Epstein documents are released the tide may begin to turn against his outrageous behavior, even with a Gaza Peace accord.

Bon Appetit
