October 11, 2025 Breakfast - Granola and Fruit Salad. Lunch - Costco Hot dog. Diner - Baked Chicken Taco with avocado

Today we were back on our diet. I ate granola with tropical fruit salad for breakfast as Suzette drove us to a interior designer’s estate sale.  Suzette got us to the house before 9:00 so we were the second to sign up to enter at 10:00, a more civilized system that is gaining acceptance.

When we entered Suzette went t the garage for the Christmas China and I went to the kitchen where I found a lovely roasting pan with built in drip structure, a heavy Hofheinz cleaver and a lovely lemon wedge squeezer in the shape of a bird.

I also grabbed two desk lamps and two carved wooden heads. Although Suzette spent most of her time on Christmas China she found a fabulous cat duffle bag.

After we paid and packed everything in the Highlander we drove to Costco by way of Goodwill where Suzette found several Christmas mugs and a wonderful drink dispenser in the shape of a Christmas tree in red glass and a ceramic chip and dip tray with Santa Claus on it.

It’s

When we arrived at Costco we ate a hot dog with a drink. My favorite cheap meal.

Then we bought eggs, six bottles of wine: a Sancerre, a Chateauneuf du Pape, two Kirkland Pinot Grigio, a Gruet Brut and a Gruet Savage Rose.  We also bought Tylenol and two whole chickens.  P

We then drove home and unloaded and rested for a few minutes p.

I made a limeade and watched Texas beat OU, TCU lose to Kansas State and Indians beat No. 3 Oregon.

I picked tarragon in the garden and peeled six or seven cloves of garlic and Suzette stuffed the chicken and put it on a Spandex rack and baked it at high heat for 15 minutes and then for an hour at 350.

After the games we dressed for the symphony and when the chicken was cooked at 5:00 we heated corn tortillas and Suzette diced an avocado and we cut the wings and a leg off the chicken and ate chicken and avocado tacos wth sour cream and a wing each.

We then drove to Popejoy for the symphony. There was a hymn to Hiroshima and four Richard Strauss sons sung by a soprano and after the intermission, Mahler’s 4th Symphony with the soprano singing during the Fourth movement.

We do not care for singing, it was not our favorite evening, although we liked the first two or three movements of the symphony.

We then drove home and watched the new CNN series on bread and Suzette watched a documentary on CNN on New Orleans Cuisine and then went to bed, while I watched Georgia beat Auburn and then match summaries of EUFA qualifying matches until 10:30 and then finished this blog entry.

It was a rather full day of shopping with a return to a more rigid diet.

Also we walked a lot. Over 4300 steps for me.

Bon Appetit
