October 10, 2025 Breakfast - Granola with fruit salad. Lunch - Lamb, avocado, and goat cheese salad. Dinner - Broiled Mackerel with Stir- Fried Shanghai bok Choy, Nixon, and white mushrooms

Today the dam broke on the market  and there was an over 800 point melt down in the market with all the high PE stocks tumbling. Even Nvidia was down over $9.00. The sell off was precipitated by Trump trying to get leverage on China by indicating in a tweet that he would put heavy tariffs on Chinese goods. It will be interesting to see if he can bully China into accepting more favorable trade terms for the U.S.

I watched the Market open while eating a bowl of granola with milk, yogurt, and tropical fruit salad.

Then I worked until 1:30 when I made a beautiful salad with a PPI lamb chop and Tabouli plus green olives, goat cheese, a small avocado, red onion slices and 2 1/2 red radishes sliced. I dressed the salad with juice of 1/2 lime and a drizzle of olive oil. The goat cheese and avocado mixed with the dressing and tabouli to form a lovely sauce.

After lunch I rested for a few minutes, until Suzette came home around 3:00. She wanted to plant the heads of garlic she had bought, so I helped her plant the cloves of garlic about 5 inches apart.

Then I watched some news and at 5:30 we started preparing dinner.

I separated the green leaves from the white heavier part of each leave of Shanghai Bok Choy.

Then I sliced four white mushrooms and about 1 T. each of ginger and garlic and added it to the white stalk pile.

Suzette went to the garden and picked four shishito peppers and went to the garage and fetched a bottle of Kirkland Pinot Grigio ($4.99 at Costco)

I heated about 1 1/2 T. of peanut oil in the wok and sautéed the shishitos first. Then I added the white stalks with ginger and garlic and sautéed those for a couple of minutes.

This is when Suzette put the mackerel filets that she had drizzled with olive oil into the heated oven set on broil.

I then added the green leaves and mushroom slices plus a tsp. Each of salt and sugar and about 2 T. of Chinese cooking wine.

I tossed the vegetables to coat with the seasoning and covered yhe wok to steam the greens.

Suzette then heated some leftover rice for my plate in the microwave.

After a couple of minutes the vegetables were cooked and I turned off the heat.

Then in another couple of minutes the mackerel was cooked and Suzette served me a plate with a bed of rip ice covered with thestir fried vegetables on which she lay the mackerel fillet.

I filled glasses with Pinot Grigio and we ate a pleasant dinner of fresh broiled fish and vegetables.

We then watched a movie on Netflix titled “French Lover” with Omar Sy that we liked very much and went to bed a bit after 9:00.

Lupin's Omar Sy Stars in Netflix's New Rom-Com 'French Lover ...
The "French lover with Omar Sy" is a 2025 Netflix romantic comedy film titled French Lover. Omar Sy plays a famous and jaded actor, Abel Camara, who falls for a non-famous waitress, Marion (played by Sara Giraudeau), who is going through a divorce. The film is a modern take on the "regular girl meets movie star" trope and explores the challenges of a relationship between two people from different worlds.  P
