March 17, 2024 Lunch - El Super la Cocina Chili Relleno Plate Dinner - Leftover Swedish Meatballs with Steamed Broccoli, noodles, and Rice
I woke up at 8:00 and finally got 8 hours of sleep so I was more alert today.
I showered and dressed and transcribed the discussion notes and grades for last book club meeting that discussed The Left Hand of Darkness.
I ate granola with milk, yogurt, and tropical fruit salad, but the milk was bad and I evacuated the meal at around 11:30.
At 12:30 I drove to El Super to buy produce for the next two weeks and fresh milk. I bought Lala mango yogurt, spinach, red potatoes, green beans, an eggplant, zucchini, a green bell pepper, leeks, green onions, parsley, two cucumbers, and three avocados.
I then went to the La Cocina in the store and ordered a chili Relleno plate with double beans to go. It came with two toasted flour tortillas, salsa and a small container of chopped cilantro. I filled each flour tortilla with beans, one - half of a chili Relleno and some green chili and a tsp. of chopped cilantro.
When I arrived at home it was 2:21 so I checked the market and my portfolio was down a bit but tomorrow Jensen Huang will speak at an Nvidia meeting, which may move the stock back up from $119.50 where it closed today toward its recent high of around $140.00.
I rested until 4:00 and then watched Ari until 5:00, when I returned Baumgartner, the Book Club March book, to the library. I when I returned, I walked around the block that helped me log 3500 steps today.
When I returned home, I pruned the three roses in the front yard.
Dinner - At 6:00 we started preparing dinner. I sliced five mushrooms and a shallot. Suzette cut the flowerets off a head of broccoli and chopped them and added them to the skillet in which she was sautéing the mushroom slices and minced shallot. I added sherry and milk and Suzette added water mixed with the last of the brown sauce from the container in the Swedish Meatballs, noodles, and gravy were stored in the fridge after she added those to the skillet.
She then added the broccoli and I heated some leftover rice in the microwave.
I opened a bottle of 2018 Chateau Lalande Masse, Bordeaux red from Appellation Fronsac that was tight and chalky at first but opened up nicely after about thirty minutes.
I added Lingon Sylt to my plate
We watched two hours of Antiques Roadshow and then went to bed.
We must still be tired from our major gardening effort yesterday.
