March 9, 2025 Brunch - Bacon and eggs. Late Lunch - Sashimi and rice
Today was a little of everything but only two meals.
I watched Chelsea beat Liecester to go into fourth place and probably doom Liecester to relegation.
Then Suzette made breakfast at 10:30 while I dressed. Suzette fried four slices of thick cut hickory smoked bacon, and cut some of the cherry tomatoes brought by Melissa and Ruth last night in half to make a egg dish that looked like two blooming flowers with stalks made of Italian parsley. It was very creative. Unfortunately, it stuck to the pan when she was removing it so it was a mess on the plate.
I toasted three slices of bread and spread them them with butter and French Bonne Marie Cherry Preserves and drank a cup of tea and a glass of orange juice.
After brunch I met with a new client for two hours.
When she left I pruned the Don Juan rose bush on the back patio for about an hour and then talked to Luke and watched a Robin pecking in the garden until 3:30 when I began to weaken.
I made a late lunch of rice and sashimi. I made rice with dashi and seaweed and sliced an Aji tuna steak, a salmon fillet, and four sea scallops plus 1/3 of a peeled and seeded cucumber. I filled dipping bowls with soy and wasabi and a bowl with pickled ginger and daikon slices. Suzette ate as much as she could and then I finished the fish and out the rest of the rather bitter cucumber slices into the jar of pickles.
Two bowls of rice and a massive amount of raw seafood made me feel better after I lay up in bed and napped until 7:00.
We then spent several hours planning the Salta and Cachi part of the Argentina trip, mostly wineries.
Suzette went to bed at 9:45 and I stayed up to blog this entry.
The clocks were set ahead an hour today so our sleep rhythm is off a bit.
Bon Appetit
