March 10, 2025 Lunch - Cabbage Roll and Polenta Dinner - Trout Cakes, tartare sauce, Cranberry Sauce, with Steamed Broccoli with Mornay Sauce

Today i woke up and watched the market and tumble dramatically, in part due to Trump’s comment that he is not watching the market. He watches it like a hawk band takes credit for its rise when it goes up but could care less and disregards it when it goes down.

At one point the Dow was down over a 1000 points and every else was watching it. The Trump Bump has turned into the Trump Slump and now people are talking about a Trumpcession caused by on and off tariffs and government firings.

I ate a chocolate croissant for breakfast with a cup of tea.

Then I filled in the PA. Inheritance tax form and sent it to my client.

Then I showered and dressed and went to Bill’s office for a meeting.

When it finished p, I drove home and at 1:00 heated and ate a leftover  cabbage roll, the leftover salad, and some polenta.

I then watched Newcastle beat West Hampton 1 to 0 to go into 6th place in the PL.

I had an eruption of diarrhea after the match. Something was bad, probably the salad. I lay in bed and rested until 4:45 when I drafted a Scheduling Order in the lower Rio grande adjudication.

At 5:30 I walked to the country club and afterward pruned some roses.

Suzette brought out her power saw and we cut four or five limbs in a jiffy.

I then trimmed the rest of the Don Juan rose bush next to the patio.

I was light until 7:00 due to daylight saving’s time.

Dinner - Suzette made trout cakes from the PPI grilled trout from Saturday night’s dinner. Suzette added cracker crumbs, paprika, horseradish Mayo, and several other ingredients and formed them into the normal shape of crab cakes.

I deflowered a head of broccoli that Suzette steamed. I fetched cranberry sauce and the leftover Mornay sauce, and a good bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio

I made a small bowl of tartare sauce by mixing Mayo, lemon juice, horseradish and pickle relish.

Suzette steamed the broccoli and sautéed the six trout cakes. I added a small amount of milk to the Mornay sauce and heated it in the microwave for 45 seconds to loosen it up.

When the trout cakes were golden brown on each side Suzette plated each plate with a small pile of cranberry sauce, some broccoli sauced with Mornay sauce and two trout cakes. I put the bowl of tartare sauce on the table and opened the wine and poured glasses of it for each of us.

We watched Goldie Hawn work with the Property brothers to renovate a hues for her nanny Until 8:00 and then a few minutes of Lawrence.

We went to bed, Suzette to sleep and I to blog and read.

Bon Appetit
