October 26, 2024 Breakfast - Lax and bagels. Lunch - Oyster Pore Boys. Dinner - Spanish Style Baked Monkfish and Chocolate Chocolate chip cookies

I woke up and watched soccer this morning. There were lots of ties. I drank a cup of chai with a chocolate croissant at around 8:30.  Then I rode a mile on the bike and watched the end of the first match between Aston Villa vs. Bournemouth that ended in a 1 to 1 tie.

When Suzette awakened she exercised in the hot tub as usual And then suggested eating Lax and Bagels for breakfast. She fetched the Gravad lax, cream cheese, red onion and a tomato and I fetched the Gravad Lax.

Suzette sliced the bagels into 4 slices and toasted them and spread cream cheese on the slices. I sliced thin slices of red onion and Gravad lax and lay Gravad lax, tomato, and red onion slices on the bagels and Suzette fetched the jar of capers as garnish and poured glasses of orange/carrot juice.

I then watched Everton v.  Fulham that also ended in a 1 to 1 tie.

I then stripped leaves from stalks of thyme I picked in the garden and watched football. The TCU v.vTexas Tech game came on at 1:30 and it was very exciting with TCU winning by one point, 35 to 34.

At 2:00 Suzette toasted slices of baguette, and heated the PPI fried oysters from Thursday’s dinner and made tartare sauce with mayonnaise, lemon juice, horseradish, and pickle relish and spread some on the tartare sauce on the toasted baguette slices and then added a lettuce leaf to the toasted baguette and finally re-heated the fried oysters and lay them on the bread.

We then drove to Lowe’s and purchased two “For Rent” signs and then went to the apartment and Suzette checked the apartment while I lettered the signs with my phone number.

After visiting the apartment we drove home an at 7:00 made dinner. I de-stemmed a pile of baby spinach leaves and Suzette steamed the three Monkfish Fillets I bought at Whole Foods yesterday on a bed of the baked potato slices, tomatoes, paprika, nsaffron, and onions from last Friday’s dinner in the steamer oven.  I opened a bottle of Martin Codax and we ate a wonderful dinner.

We watched the second pot game of the World Series and then Death in Paradise.

We are Yankee fans, so there has been little to cheer about in the first two games. Perhaps Monday night in New York things will change.

At 8:00 we made chocolate chocolate chip cookies and they were soft and delicious. We each ate two and there was a large bag of about 30 cookies left.

We watched Death in. Paradise and then went to bed.

Bon Appetit
