January 16, 2023 Lunch - Warm Chicken Sandwich from Subway. Dinner - Char Grilled Rib Steak with Roasted carrots and Potatoes and sautéed Spinach, mushrooms, and Black Truffles.
I did not eat breakfast and went to a client’s for a 10:30 appointment and then an 11:30 to 5:30 appointment drafting corporate documents with a 30 minute break to eat a Subway warm chicken sandwich that was not very good because it contained ground chicken instead of sliced chicken.
When I returned home a few minutes before 6:00 Suzette had started roasting cubed carrots and Yukon gold potatoes covered with aluminum foil in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
I then sliced five mushrooms and 1/4 truffle while Suzette de-stemmed the last cup of spinach.
Suzette also salted and peppered a lovely one of the new rib steaks we had let age in the fridge for about ten days. These steaks we bought are much better than the last slab of rib steaks we bought, very tender.
We could not taste the truffle, alas.
I went to the basement and soon found a 2012 Chateau de Boussin fro Bordeaux. The wine was wonderful full bodied and lots of character and only $6.99 in 2013 at Trader Joe’s.
We loved the meal. I ate a few pieces of brie cheese after the meal and two Ghirardelli’s chocolate wafers with a sip of Caddell and Williams apple brandy later. We went to bed t 10:00 after a full day of activity.
