September 1, 2021 Lunch - chili Rellenos from Padilla’s Restaurant, Dinner - Split pea and Ham soup with Toasted French baguette I stayed up 1 1/2 hours in the middle of the night and slept until 8:30 and still felt sleepy all day. I watched the market take off and march higher and then worked and listened to the Pentagon briefing on the end of the war by Secretary of War Austin and Joint Chiefs Milley while I ate a bowl of granola with milk and blueberries and bananas and yogurt. I then went for a 1/2 mile walk and then went the bank and then picked up my chili Relleno plate at Padilla’s. When I returned home it was 2:00 so I checked my portfolio’s performance today and found that it had increased .475% to a new all time high by a couple of thousand dollars, up 23% for the first 2/3 of the year. I then ate 1/2 half of a chile Relleno, some beans, and the two warm sopapillas with honey and then worked until 4:00, when I lay down to rest, but did not get a nap because Suzette arrived a bit before 5:00. She called me to dinner at 6:00 to a warm bowl of Split Pea and Ham soup and two buttered rounds of French Baguette. I poured us glasses of Trader Joe’s Meritage Red Blend from Napa Valley. At 6:23 I drove to the Albuquerque Country Club for our Huning Castle Neighborhood Association’s annual meeting. It gives me a chance to catch up on what is going on in the neighborhood and the City because Mayor Keller, who lives in the neighborhood speaks to the group. I left at 8:30. When I returned home, Suzette was sleeping in her chair in front of the TV. She has peeled a box of peaches from her trees at the Center and mixed some of them into the PPI Peach cobbler with a dash or two of rum. I awakened her so we could eat dessert together. She made whipped cream and heated a bowl of cobbler for each of us and garnished the cobbler with some whipped cream. I made a cup of chai. We were both tired so we went to bed at 9:15. Suzette to sleep and I to blog. Bon Appetit
