June 18, 2021 Lunch - Chicken and Vegetable Stir Fry with Egg White Noodles. Dinner - Vichyssoises and chicken salad Today was a good food day and a terrible stock market day but not as bad for me as for others. At 6:45 Suzette and I took a walk. When we returned I made a great breakfast of two men on a raft with slices of Fano sourdough bread with a hole cut out of their center and sautéed in butter on one side and then flipped and sautéed with bitter on the other. I sprinkled sliced green onion and garlic and cracked an egg into each hole. I also fried a slice of bacon in the large skillet and made a cup of green tea. It was a messy but delightful breakfast that harkened back to my childhood. I cheered as Sweden beat Slovakia in EUFA competition this morning. Then I worked and had an appointment. At 1:00 I watched England play Scotland and ate lunch. I heated the PPI Chicken and Vegetable Stir Fry and boiled a bundle of egg white noodles in boiling water for a minute. That boiling did not cook the noodles fully so I lay them in a pasta bowl and piled the Chicken and Vegetable Stir Fry on top and added a tsp. each of soy and Chinese Cooking wine and a dash of sesame oil and heated the entire bowl in the microwave for 1.11 minutes more. The match was the worst I have seen yet; neither team had any energy or creativity. At 2:30 I checked my portfolio and found that it suffered a little less than a 1% loss, which was a bit greater loss than the NASDAQ suffered. The Dow suffered a loss of just over 1.5%. So the movement back toward growth stocks from value stocks seems to be continuing, as is the volatility. For example, my portfolio went up 1.32% yesterday and fell .97% today. Suzette came home and napped and I finished two more projects and the started watching Uruguay play Argentina in American cup competition. The match was better than any I had seen today. There was energy and creativity, perhaps because two of the best players in the world were on the pitch. Messi for Argentina and Suarez for Uruguay. Willy called and came by to pick up his laundry. We made him a salmon salad and he watched a bit of the game until 7:30 when he needed to leave for a party. Suzette woke up shortly after Willy left. She had eaten some food when she came home, so she just wanted to eat Vichyssoises for dinner. I went to the garden and picked about a dozen chives and sliced them and cubed Willy’s uneaten tomato wedges from his salad and filled two soup bowls with Vichyssoises and two glasses with La Granja White Viura/Verdejo blend from Spain. After the soup I still wanted chicken salad, so I filled a pasta bowl with organic greens and diced a tomato, sliced several slices of sweet onion, 1/4 of a cucumber, and 1/2 of a large radish and added slices of chicken plus Cesar salad dressing. I drank another glass of white wine with the salad. We watched the end of the Las Vegas Knights v. Montreal Canadians Stanley Cup playoff match and the an episode of Miss Fisher’s Modern Mystery and went to bed. It looks like we will be eating lots of cold dishes this summer. Bon Appetit

June 18, 2021 Lunch - Chicken and Vegetable Stir Fry with Egg White Noodles. Dinner - Vichyssoises and chicken salad

Today was a good food day and a terrible stock market day but not as bad for me as for others.
