I watched the Tour and news this morning until 10:00. It was another unusual race with a 15 man breakaway from which the South African champion, named Imbry held on to win. Suzette worked in the garden a while and then we ate a scramble of pork sauce, egg, and potato on toasted blue corn tortillas.
We then showered and dressed and drove to Santa Fe for the Folk Art Festival. We bought a lovely raw silk mat and Suzette bought a pair of sandals from Kenya and a pair of silk embroidered boots from Ubekistan. We then ate a late lunch at the Museum Hill Cafe. I ate smoked duck flautist again and Suzette ate a tuna salad we both drank a glass of Primus rose’. Then we shopped a bit longer and bought tin waste baskets or plant containers.
We left around 3:30 after some serious power shopping and drove to Stephen’s. We did not see any thing of interest and drove home, arriving around 5:15.
Suzette attempted to make Manhattans but, except for the maraschino cherries she had the wrong ingredients and made a rather distant approximation with Scotch whiskey and red Marsala instead of vermouth.
We watched TV until about 6:30 when we fixed a simple dinner of sautéed hamburgers with melted cheese on top and mushrooms and Vadalia onion with steamed asparagus and a PPI Baked Potato. I sliced two tomatoes and Suzette lay the hamburger on the tomato slices when she plated our plates. I drank the rest of the Puerto Plaza Reserva red from Spain. We then watched Poldark and Grantchester and went bed at 10:00.
Bon Appetit
