February 5, 2024 Lunch - Toasted bagel with cream cheese and cheese. Dinner - Meatloaf with Roasted Smashed baby potatoes and green salad

Today was light on food again.  I worked until 10:30 and the ate a bowl of granola with milk and blueberries and yogurt and 1/2 banana sliced.

Then at 1:00 i toasted 1/2 bagel and spread cream cheese on it and lay slices of cheese on it and ate it with a couple of cups of Earl Grey tea with milk and watched Man City beat Brentford 4 to 1.

I checked the market after 2:00 and my portfolio was up even though the market was down thanks to strong gains by Nvidia and Caterpillar and a decent gain by Apple.

Willy came by at 4:00 to do his wash and we walked with Carol one mile around the neighborhood.

When I returned at 5:00 Suzette put the small creamer potatoes into the oven to bake.  Then at 6:00 I made a salad with romaine lettuce, a diced small avocado, a diced tomato, two sliced radishes, three anchovies diced, and about 1 oz. of thinly sliced red onion. I dressed and tossed the salad with the usual Cesar dressing.

Suzette opened a 2014 Martin Ray Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine was elegant and pleasant with the meatloaf.

When the potatoes were roasted, Suzette smashed them to about 1/2 of their original height and heated several slices of the PPI meatloaf.

The anchovies and avocado seemed to have disappeared into the dressing visually, but their flavors continued to make it one of the best salads we have eaten in a long time. The potatoes were excellent, but the salad was superb.

I went to the basement after dinner and fetched a bottle of Maison Serene cognac and sipped it with two chocolates for dessert, we watched Antiques Roadshow.

Bon
