April 9, 2021 Lunch - Sashimi with Sushi Rice. Dinner -East Ocean Roast Duck and Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables

April 9, 2021 Lunch - Sashimi with Sushi Rice. Dinner -East Ocean Roast Duck and Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables

Today I had my first appointment in my pajamas.  I forgot I had made an appointment with Floyd at 9:30 and when he arrived, I was still in my pajamas. I really like Floyd, he is self assured and very bright.  He was a scientist at Sandia Lab. I do not need to explain anything to him except what the law is on a given point and suggest verbiage.  What a delight.

We worked until 11:15 and since I had skipped breakfast again after Floyd left I made lunch.  This was a repeat of yesterday’s lunch.

We still had raw salmon and tuna and I thawed the last five scallops and peeled, seeded, and sliced 1/3 cucumber. I filled the small dipping bowl with soy and added Wasabi sauce and filled the other small bowl with pickled ginger. I fetched another rice bowl and filled it with rice and added a small amount of rice vinegar and Aji Mirin to intensify the sushi flavor and keep it moist when I microwaved it.

It was a great lunch.  After lunch my computer lost its connection to the Internet, so was not able to check my portfolio’s performance until later in the evening when I fixed the connection.

My portfolio increased by .84% to a new all time high, with the usual suspects, Apple, Square, and Moderna leading the way.

I went shopping at 3:30, first to Sprouts where I bought, dill, granola, a cucumber, a head of cauliflower, and a bag of twice dipped peanuts.

I then drove to Lowe’s on the way home and picked up three bottles of tonic water and 1/3 lb. of green beans.  We have been drinking gin and tonics as the weather has warmed and I see not end in sight.

When I returned home a little after 5:00 Suzette was at home.  We made gin and tonics and took them to the table in the gazebo and enjoyed the warm sun of the afternoon and our garden which is springing back to life.

Suzette showed me the two rhubarb plants she brought home to add to the plants in our garden as we returned to the house after finishing our drinks.

We decided to eat the uneaten roast 1/2 duck and the fried tofu and vegetables with rice I had purchased at East Ocean yesterday but did not eat because I missed Peter.

Suzette filled a Pyrex baking dish with the duck and poured the duck sauce over the duck and added most of the Stir Fried fried tofu and Mixed Vegetables.  The food was not as wonderful as fresh from East Ocean’s kitchen but it was much more wonderful than what we could cook and we did not have to prep, cook, and clean.  And we have enough left for another meal.

We watched a Chinese American movie named “Farewell” that was very pleasant and then went to bed at 9:30, although I stayed up to blog.
