November 30, 2024 Breakfast - granola, yogurt, and tropical fruit salad. Lunch - PPI Turkey Divine and cranberry Sauce. Dinner - At Debbies’s Calzones, Romanian Stuffed Peppers and Salad

We awakened around 7:30. I wrote thank you notes, and correspondence until around 8:45 and then peddled 1.26 miles while Suzette did her morning aerobics in the hot tub.

We each then ate a bowl of granola with tropical fruit salad and yogurt.

I watched a spirited match between Crystal Palace and Newcastle that Crystal tied 1 to 1 in the fourth minute of extra time.

Then I started watching football. There were several upsets today but none bigger than unranked Michigan beating No. 2 Ohio State, although unranked  Syracuse beat No. 6 Miami.

At 1:00 we heated plates of the leftover Turkey Divine we made yesterday with bites of cranberry sauce.

We also finished several open bottles of wine with lunch. I drank a glass of the 2019  HJW Vineyard Riesling and Suzette finished the Gruet Brut sparkling wine and the Palantir French Sauvignon Blanc.

Then we rested until 3:30 when we got ready to go to Debbie’s for dinner.

We took a container of Nina’s Stuffed Peppers and her pumpkin roll, plus a bottle of Spanish Tempranillo from Rioja.

When we arrived a little after 4:00 in the afternoon the light was brilliant so I took a few photos of Sandia Peak from Debbie’s deck and as far west as the Jemez Mountains.p and then a little later of the sunset.

Two other couples came at 5:00 Jim and Vic and their wives, Joan and ?.

They brought wine and appetizers. Debbie made calzones again stuffed with ham, cheese, and baby arugula and salad.

Jim brought a nice Butterknife Chardonnay that was not heavily oaked or suffering from malolactic vanilla flavor.

I ate some olives, and marinated mozzarella squares with a glass of Rioja as Jim, Vic, and I watched the four or five games starting at 5:30. Mainly Texas v. Texas A & M, but also, Kansas State v. Iowa State, Oregon v. Washington St., and Oklahoma v. LSU.

TCU was playing Cincinnati but it was not being televised.

I felt great when Texas and TCU both won their games.

We left at 9:00 and drove home and watched the last period of the Texas game and then we went to bed around 9:45.

It was a relaxing day, except we cleaned up the kitchen and Suzette started cleaning the pink room.

Bon Appetit
