November 18, 2024 Breakfast - Lax and Bagel. Lunch - Padilla’s Dinner - Lamb and Tabouli stuffed Pita Sandwich

November 18, 2024 Breakfast - Lax and Bagel. Lunch - Padilla’s  Dinner - Lamb and Tabouli stuffed Pita Sandwich

I woke up at 7:00 just as the Market commentary, Squawk on the Street began and I was amazed that Willy said that many commenters are saying that Palintir had become over valued and was ready for a pull back.

It closed at $66.00 on Friday and today it fell to $60 on the open and traded up and down, closing at $61.42, down $4.51. I realized that Willy was following the true pulse of the market much more closely than I was.

As it turned out Apple went up and my portfolio ended exactly where it began, which is 2.56% below its recent high.

I toasted one of the honey and whole wheat bagels that we bought yesterday at Costco, spread it with cream cheese and garnished it with red onion and Gravad lax slices and drank a cup of tea for breakfast around 8:15.

                                        A pleasant constructivist composition

Then I did some consulting in the morning from 11:00 to 12:15.

At 1:30 I went to Padilla’s for lunch with Aaron. He ordered a taco plate and I ordered a blue corn beef enchilada plate with onions, double beans, and red chili.

We discussed Aaron’s recent trip to Europe and lawyers, who he has a real affection for. I asked Aaron if he had eaten at Padilla’s before and he reminded me that we hatched the idea of Earn at Padilla’s. I was very pleased.

After lunch he drove me home around 3:30 and worked until after 5:00.

I was reading the Ancient Celts when Suzette came home around 5:30 and had her usual cocktail. I joined her with a glass of yogurt milk to try to settle my bloated stomach from the Mexican food.

At 6:00 we decided to make stuffed Pita pocket sandwiches. Suzette sautéed the two lamb chops she had thawed several days ago.

I the cut the last pita in half and heated 1/2 in the toasted to warm it so it would open more easily. I opened the two halves and stuffed each with slices of tomato and red onion, labni, a leaf of lettuce, and tabouli. Soon the two lamb chops were cooked and I sliced them and Suzette sautéed the slices because they were still really rare.

When the lamb slices were cooked to medium we put slices into our pita sandwich and poured out the rest of the Portuguese wine I bought at Costco for under $10.00 and we enjoyed a pleasant light dinner.

We watched the Ken Burns documentary on Leonardo from 7:00 to 9:00 as we sipped cognac and ate a few chocolates and went to bed at 9:00, when it ended and I wrote this entry in bed while Suzette slept.

Bon Appetit
