 August 7, 2025 Breakfast - Eggs and bacon on toast  Lunch - BBQ at Jean’s house 

I only ate two meals today. Breakfast at 10:00 at Jean’s house where we are staying. Suzette fried two slices of bacon hole I showered and dressed. When I went back down to the kitchen she fried three eggs and I toasted a slice of bread and put the two over easy eggs on the bread and ate them as an open faced sandwich

with the bacon and a few cubes of cantaloupe and a cup of Earl Grey tea.

Then we drove to Wei’s Grocery where we bought toothpicks, freezer bags and two bottles of wine, both Argentinian Malbecs, a 2022 Trivento reserve and a Trapiche 2022.

We then went to the beer dispensary and bought 8 Carlsberg16 oz. cans of beer and then drove home.

When we returned Don had arrived and was sipping 

Ventisquero Grey Glacier Single Block Cabernet Sauvignon Trinidad Vineyard Maipo Valley 2022 on the patio.

Jean was in the kitchen making deviled eggs and getting the ingredients ready.  She made a delicious pasta salad last night with summer sausage, olives, rites pasta, small celery cubes, and a wonderful German style sweet and sour dressing.

Then the Lindemuth’s cleaned two tables and took the propane grill out of the shed in the back yard.  Soon Don was cooking hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill.

We toasted four buns and put slices of cheese on the hamburgers. Jean had put catsup, mustard, and Mayo on the table beside the grill and Don put the grilled hamburgers and hot dogs on a platter on that table with the pasta salad and deviled eggs and tomato slices. Jean boiled ears of fresh corn and when she brought those out we each took one and Don served hot dogs and hamburgers and buns.

I opened the Trivento 2022 Malbec reserva and it was delicious with a smooth dark cherry taste. Bev joined us during the cooking and I spoke to her while the cooking activity was progressing.

I ate a hot dogs on, a cheeseburger with a slice of tomato spread with Mayo . The hamburger was thick so I made two open faced sandwiches, one with a slice of tomato  on a bun spread with Mayo and the other a bun spread with catsup with the hamburger.

After lunch at 3:00 Don and Jean replaced the missing screw on the handle of my suitcase. I stayed up until 4:00 and then napped until 7:00.

We did not eat dinner because the late lunch with all the food was more than enough for dinner also.

We watched the first half of a pre-season NFL game between the Bengals and the Eagles and then at 9:00 Jean and Suzette went to bed and I watched two episodes of Unforgotten on PBS Masterpiece Theater and entered captions on some of my art collection photos and then at 11:00 blogged this entry.
