March 26, 2026 Breakfast - Pork, cabbage, poblano chili, and onion Omelet Lunch - Chicken and Tomato Sandwich. Dinner - Broiled Mackerel with Cottage Fried Potatoes and Sautéed Sorrel and zucchini

I awakened around 6:00 and rested in bed until 6:30.

At 7:00 I made a pork, onion, poblano chili, and zucchini omelet.

Then watched the market open down and then a really funny thing happened. The business news cut to a Cabinet meeting in the White House and Trump talked for about fifteen to twenty minutes in rambling thoughts and as he did the market kept going down and down. By the end of the day the Dow was down 460 points and the NASDAQ was down 521 points and my portfolio suffered a 2.5% loss. It must have been humiliating that instead of talking the market up, he talked it down.

At 10:00 Suzette and I spoke to Dr. Bungo about my lab results and we all agreed that I was making progress in my recovery of my kidney function.

Dr. Bungo suggested that I eat five small meals instead of three large meals, so at noon I toasted two slices of rye bread and spread them with mayo and garnished them open faced with slices of tomato, red onion, chicken, and lettuce. I ate half and saved the other half for tomorrow.

Then from 1:00 until 3:30 I went to book club and ate a slice of key lime pie and some tropical fruit salad.

Then when Suzette came home at 4:00 and at 5:00 we ate snacks. Suzette ate a bowl of pistachios and ate the leftover bagel with gravad lax.

Then Suzette snoozed until 7:45 and I watched Texas lose to Purdue in the round of sweet 16.

Suzette thawed out a mackerel and at 8:00 I filleted the mackerel and Suzette broiled it.  She also sautéed several baked potato cut in slices with some onion in one skillet and slices of zucchini and some sorrel leaves from our garden. Willy came over for dinner and I poured out the last 1/2 of the 2021 Red Newt Pinot Gris.

We then looked and discussed my lab results until 9:00 when Willy left and we went to bed.

Bon Appetit
