April 5, 2025 Iguazu Falls from the Argentinian Side. Lunch - Holy
We ate omelet, fruit salad and waffle and then drove to the Argentinian Iguazu National park.
Everything on the Argentine side is a long walk. We probably covered over 1000 steps just to get to the train to take us to the last stop at the Devil’s throat .
The walkway along the top of the falls was exceedingly long, but it was worth it because the power of the falls at the top throwing water in torrents down the walls was really dramatic. We put on our rain jackets as soon we got on the platform next to the cascade at the throat but the spray had already wet us.
After a few minutes we walked back and I had to stop several times to rest and consumed four Glucose tablets..
We texted Billy and Elaine who were at the hotel and ready to eat lunch, but we were still not out of the park and able to join them.
The last 500 steps from the park exit to the truck were really difficult but I made it and even stopped to watch a toucan perched in the top of a tree.
We saw a Coatimundi and perhaps a capybara along the paths in the park plus lots of birds and fish.
We dove back to town and parked two blocks from Holy and walked to it for our lunch. We split a hamburger and a salad. The hamburger was terrific with two patties, two slices of cheese, bacon and prosciutto And French fries
We drank beers with the burger and were revived by around 3:30.
When we returned to the cabin I lay down and checked my steps and had amasses over 10,000 steps to set an all time post op record.
We rested and watched the sun set behind the hills on the Paraguay side of the Parana River and went to bed.
Bon Appetit
