November 3, 2024 Brunch - BLT and Egg Sandwiches. Late Lunch - Lamb and Pork Sausage Pho Noodle Soup. Late Dinner- Charcuterie and cheese
I woke up at 7:00 to watch the match between Tottenham and Aston Villa. It was tied 1 to 1 and even through halftime but Tottenham scored three unanswered goals in the second half. The last goal by Maddison was amazing a free kick taken from just outside the 12 meter box that curved around the wall of players and went into the top right corner of the goal.
I still have affection for those players who played for Leicester in its winning days.
At 9:30 Suzette fried bacon and toasted slices of whole wheat sandwich bread and I sliced two Roma tomatoes and tore two leaves of lettuce.
Finally Suzette whisked two eggs and cooked them into an egg pancake that we split. We each spread Mayo on the slices of toast and lay the ingredients on them. Suzette made a traditional sandwich and I made two open faced sandwiches.
Then Suzette went to the apartment to clean out the cabinets of food and help Carlos change the lock on the door, fix the blinds and the shower door.
I watched the second PL match that was more exciting between Chelsea and Man United that end in a 1 to 1 tie when Man United scored in overtime.
I then watched Denver and Dallas loose their football games and lost interest at 1:00 so I pruned the rose bushes in the front yard and some of the invasive trees.
At 2:30 we were hungry so I made Vietnamese rice noodle soup with the last 1/2 lb. of ground lamb and 1/4 lb. o pork sausage plus 1/4 cup of yellow onion, a handful of spinach leaves, 2/3 package of fresh rice noodles and two green onions diced plus a cube of pho seasoning and 1 1/2 cubes of beef bouillon and a T. of red miso. The broth’s flavor was terrific and we added fresh mung bean sprouts, hoisin sauce, fresh cilantro, Oriental basil, and a drip of Shiracha for a truly authentic Vietnamese soup. Later I added lime juice to my second bowl of the soup for an even more authentic soup.
We napped after lunch until 5:30 and watched the rest of the Martha Stewart documentary.
Then at 8:00 we made a cheese board with brie and slices of Jarlsberg cheese, and salami and Suzette cubed some of the Lebanon Bologna log and made a mixture of Mayo and mustard to spread and I sliced and toasted several pieces of baguette and poured out the last of the Celebus Cabernet Sauvignon that was still good after two weeks because I pulled a partial vacuum with the wine bottle plunger we bought at Mar de Frades in Cambados.
Later we watched the Marlow Murder Club and the MSNBC election special and felt somewhat encouraged about Harris’s chances of winning the Presidency. Suzette went to bed and I then watched a German TV series episode called Sonia and Luna with a cup of chai and two chocolate chocolate chip cookies.
I then went to bed at 11:00 and blogged this blog entry.
I am curious to see if any of the after hours $7.00 surge in Nvda holds in the Monday market.
Bon Appetit
