November 2, 2024 Breakfast - Mackerel, Potato, spinach, and Egg Scramble. Lunch - Tabouli Salad with Taramasalata Toast Dinner - Guacamole with Crema and chips.
I woke up at 6:30 and watched Arsenal lose to Newcastle and then we made breakfast by sautéing cubes of previously baked potato, onion, two cloves of garlic, pieces of diced baked mackerel. When those ingredients were cooked or heated suzette added three whisked eggs and I added a handful of diced Dubliner cheddar. We ate the cooked scramble with glasses of orange juice.
I then watched the Ipswich v. Leicester match that Leicester managed to tie 1 to 1 in a brilliant overtime goal by Ayew to Vardy and Vardy back to Ayew.
We then drove in Suzette’s new BMW to the Farmer’s Market and walked around it without buying anything. It was fun to walk in the warm sun among a lot of people.
Suzette then dropped me at home and drove to the car wash. I watched Wolverton against Crystal Palace play to a 2 to 2 tie and also watches several big college football games like No. 3 Penn State v. No. 4 Ohio State and No. 2 Georgia v. Florida.
Suzette went to look for cranberry decorations, her theme for Christmas at the Center at Goodwill and bought a large assortment of artificial plants.
At 1:30, before she returned, I made a simple tabouli and romaine letttuce salad with some extra olive oil and lemon juice and toasted two slices of baguette and spread them with a combination of taramasalata and olive oil hat were delicious with the salad.
At 2:30 Suzette returned and heated her leftover dinner of roast duck, squash, and red cabbage and I lay down and napped until 4:00 when we drove to Fusion on 1st St. where there was a Dia del Muertos celebration with bands. We enjoyed the Mexican band named Cumbria del Norte and danced a couple of Cumbria’s.
We returned home at 5:45 to watch Bill Maher at 6:00 and the comedy news program at 7:00 on CNN interspersed with TCU vs, Baylor.
It was a terrific game that Baylor won 37 to 34 with a field goal with 4 seconds left on the clock.
During the game I made guacamole with the two avocados I bought at El Super and Suzette baked some corn chips that had become stale to revive them and heat them.
Then at 9:30 we watched Kamala Harris do the intro skit on Saturday Night Live and about 1 hour of it and went to bed at 10:30 after dozing off and on.
I woke up at 2:00 a.m. to blog this entry and drank a cup of chai and read about the celts for a bit before going back to sleep, perhaps in part because we had walked over 4000 steps during the day.
Bon Appetit
