April 10, 2024 Breakfast - Turkish Egg Foo Young Lunch - IKEA. Dinner - Fish City Grill
This morning Suzette went with Elaine at 8:00 to work in the garden at Temple Emanuel. They picked kale, chard, and spinach for food donations to needy families. Then they went to a stretching class and we’re going to swim but the weather was inclement with lightning.
I chopped up the last of the leftover lamb and chopped some cabbage and onion and stir fried the vegetables in a skillet and then added rice and beans and finally the meat. Then Willy and I broke and stirred in three eggs that bound together the ingredients as the egg solidified and made a firm egg foo young like body of food. We each ate some with tea. I added sweet Chile sauce to mine
Then at 10:00 Billy and I drove Willy to DFW for his 12:30 flight to Miami and from there connecting to Medillen,
Unfortunately, the inclement weather prevented Willy’s flight from taking off and he returned tho Billy and Elaine’s around 6:00 after booking a flight to Bogata and a flight the next day to Medellin.
When Suzette returned around 10:30 we drove to IKEA and ate lunch. We shared a Swedish meatball lunch with mashed potato, green peas, brown sauce, and lingonberry jam and a Ceasar Salad and both drank lingonberry juice.
After lunch, I sat and read and rested while Suzette shopped.
As she approached the checkout area she called and went down to meet her and shopped for Swedish food stuffs. We bought desserts, lingon sylt, and chocolate candy and then checked out.
After loading everything into the car we drove back to Billy and Elaine’s house and I rested until 6:30 when I got dressed for dinner.
At 7:30 we drove to the Fish City Grill at Preston Center and met
Lindsay for dinner.. Suzette ordered Etoufee and I ordered broiled redfish.
Billy ordered fried oysters, Elaine ordered gumbo and Willy ordered Miso coated salmon. Lindsay may have ordered the best item, Seared salmon on a bed of lettuce. We ordered a bottle of Ruffino Pinot Grigio that was only fair, which also characterized the meal.
We went and I sipped a shot of Egeran Spanish aguardiente that tasted like fire water and a cup of camomile tea.
We went to bed at 10:00. Suzette to sleep and I to blog.
Bon Appetit
