June 7, 2025 Breakfast - latte macchiato and two chocolate croissants. Lunch - Rowley Farmhouse Ales. Dinner - Couscous, Napa Cabbage, and Marinara Sauce
We woke at 6:30 and left at 7:30 and drove to the Santa Fe County Rodeo grounds for the IFAM flea market. We paid $200 after we got into land around 8:30. At 9:00 we were admitted and went first to see TR at the rug area, where we bought a Moroccan 10 x 4 rug for $125.
I then went to the Collector’s Corner where the collectible items are kept.
I found a Navajo felt dress, a Cara Fernandez designer jacket for $80, a Bolivian woman’s shawl, and a small Indian offering sculpture for $55.
I then went with Suzette through the clothing in the textile barn where we bought several items.
We then went back to to the big barn and went through the rows of ceramics and baskets. By 10:00 we were finished purchasing when the non-early folks were admitted. We had bought about $600 of stuff and paid $200.00 to enter early. I considered it worth the extra fee, because we got first choice of the items we wanted without the crowds.
We then drove to Rowley’s Farmhouse Ales for lunch. Suzette chose an Ex Novo and I ordered a pineapple cider. Then we shared a Tuna Melt Sandwich with salad and a side of fried onion rings. Rowley’s has the best onion rings I have ever eaten.
After lunch we drove to Stephen’s consignment, but did not find anything.
We then drove home and arrived around 2:30.
After lunch we drove home and rested until 4:00.
When I go up I made a tomato sauce with an onion and six cloves of garlic chopped and sautéed at low heat in two T. of olive oil I then went to the garden and picked a basket of oregano, sage, and mint.
I minced about a cup of oregano that I added after the onions and garlic after they softened.
Then I diced four tomatoes and added them plus a can of diced tomatoes and a can of tomato paste and cooked it for two hours on low heat. Then I added 2 tsp. of salt and Suzette adde red wine and some sugar.
Suzette went to bed early with a stomach ache.
I chopped several leaves of Napa cabbage and spooned PPI couscous and some of the tomato sauce over the cabbage and covered it with Saran and heated it in the microwave and poured a glass of Embroidery red wine and ate a great dinner.
After dinner I ate three squares of milk chocolate with a cognac and Grande Marnier.
Bon Appetit
