February 27, 2026 Breakfast - Granola  Lunch - Lime Vietnamese Restaurant  Dinner - Roasted Chicken, Mashed Potatoes with Mushroom gravy, and steamed Asparagus

I slept until 6:30, then read until 7:00 and watched Squawk on the Street until 8:00.

I dressed and ate my usual breakfast of granola, milk, mango yogurt, and blueberries.

At 10:00 I walked around the block along San Carlos to Laguna and back along Los Alamos for over one mile of steps. At 5:30 i walked around the shorter block to 16th and to Los Alamos. The accumulated steps for the day were 4800.

Aaron invited me to go to lunch with him and Monica. We met at Lime at noon.  Aaron ordered Chicken soup with noodles, I ordered No. 16, Chicken Soup with wontons and egg noodles. The soup also contained slices of roasted pork, which is a house specialty.

Monica ordered her favorite dish, fried shrimp in their shells.

I also ordered an order of 3 fried egg rolls that Monica and I shared.

After lunch I drove home and rested for 1/2 hour and then meditated from 3:30 to 4:15. It was another disastrous day in the market. I will wait until tomorrow to face the worse meltdown in over a month.

Fortunately gold went up over $100 to $5280.

At 5:00 I buttered two Swedish round hard bread slices and lay slices of Jarlsberg cheese and red onion on them and melted them for a snack.

Then I walked and when I returned we prepared dinner. I removed the thighs from the roasted chicken Suzette brought from the Bistro . She then made a gravy with flour, butter, and chicken stock to which I added mushroom slices and minced garlic.

Suzette also steamed about 10 stalks of asparagus.

We poured out the remaining Faustino Albariño into two glasses.

Soon we were eating a delicious dinner.

We watched a documentary about a Korean Buddhist Nun who is a phenomenal vegetarian cook and the Washington Week at 8:00 and most of Firing Line and went to bed by 9:30. I drank a cup of chai with the last two cookies.

The weather is warming and we are starting to turn on the fan at night.

Bon Appetit
