February 26, 2026 Breakfast - Lax on Bagel. Lunch - La Salita Dinner - California Corona White Bean and Chard and macaroni Stew with Grilled Lamb chops and Tzatziki
I was up from 3:30 to 4:45 and then slept until 7:15.
The market did not respond well to Nvidia’s earnings and pummeled it and most other tech stocks.
I had the worst day in a long time.
Since we were not eating until 12:45 I ate a good breakfast of a whole toasted bagel spread with cream cheese and garnished with Gravad lax, red onion slices, and capers with Earl Grey tea.
When I finished I talked to Aaron about Earn for an hour and then read documents to prepare for a board meeting tomorrow.
Then at 11:45 I drove to pick up Charlie and Peter and drive to uLa Salta on Juan Tabo near Indian School Rd. We each ordered our
lunch and paid for it. I ordered Enchilada Delight which is four rolled enchiladas filled with ground beef and served with two sides. I my case the sides were refried beans. I ate 1/2 of my dish and took two enchiladas and beans home for lunch tomorrow.
Today all members of the club plus Mike and Tom Genomi joined us for lunch and the Book Club discussion that followed at Bonnie’s house. The book was Stella Maris by Cormac McCarthy, which triggered lots of discussion.
Bonnie made lovely cherry pies with sour cherries she sweetened and to which she added cinnamon and vanilla that we ate after the meeting.
I then drove Charlie to Galles Chevrolet and Peter home and the stopped at Lowe’s grocery store then to buy a cucumber.
I arrived home at 4:30 and watched news until 5:30 when we cooked dinner.
Dinner - Suzette made a vegetable stew that was a recipe in her Gordo Bean Club shipment She added a bunch of red chard cubed, carrots, an onion, and garlic to the cooked large white Corona beans she cooked yesterday.
Then she grilled the lamb chops I bought at Costco several days ago.
While Suzette cooked I prepped the tzatziki, 2/3 cucumber, 1/2 cup of labni, 1 cup of LaLa plain yogurt, two cloves of garlic pressed, 1/8 of a red onion minced, juice of 1/2 lemon, 1/2 tsp. of salt.
Willy arrived and walked around the block as we finished cooking. We actually did not complete dinner until 7:15. I opened a bottle of 2022 La Revuer from Côtes du Rhône that I bought at Costco for under $10.00.
