Julyy 25, 2025 Breakfast - granola with milk, yogurt, and blueberries and cantaloupe Lunch - Mary and Tito’s   Dinner - PPI Spanish Baked Fish and Potatoes with Broccoli

The diet continued today. I awakened at 4:00 and worked on a pleading for two hours. Then I watched Stage 19 of the Tour de France that was a shortened mountain stage by one mountain pass because there was a herd of diseased cattle on the route that they wanted to avoid people being exposed to so the disease would not spread.

The Stage was a repeat of the climb of Mont Ventoux ,earlier this week. At 25 km. From the finish Arensman the Dutchman took off and Pogacar and Vingegaard chose not to chase him for the Stage win and he won by 2 seconds to claim his second stage win of this Tour.

Around 7:30 I ate a bowl of granola with milk, mango yogurt, blueberries and cantaloupe.

As the riders rode up one of the mountains I rode the stationary bike 1 1/2 miles.

Then when the stage ended at 9:30 I drove to my podiatry appointment and after it at 10:30 I drove home and drove Suzette to Discount Tire to pick up Willy’s car that we bought new tires for.

We met at Mary and Tito’s at around 11:30 and soon after Aaron joined us for lunch.

Suzette and I discussed how we could reduce our caloric intake. She was better than me avoiding and of the corn chips and salsa and eating about 1/4 of my blue corn enchiladas and none of the refried beans served with it. We did order a side of sour cream but Suzette only ate about 1/2 T. of it.

Aaron ordered his favorite, a Mexican Turnover, which is the term Mary and Tito’s uses for a stuffed sopapilla with red sauce with a bowl of guacamole.

After lunch I drove home and watched the Market close and checked my portfolio that was up  only .14%. I consider any gain on a Friday a win, because most dealers close out their positions before the weekend which usually forces the Market to end down for the day. It is a tribute to the strength of this rally that the market ended up for the day.

I worked at my desk until 3:30 and then lay down for a nap.

At 5:30 I joined Suzette in the TV room and we decided to make dinner rather than snack.

Suzette cut the flowerets off a crown of broccoli and added them to the leftover Spanish baked fish, potatoes, and onion in a pimenton and saffron sauce plus several sautéed leftover prosciutto wrapped spears of asparagus that Diane made for dinner last Sunday evening.

I opened and poured glasses of Kirkland Pinot Grigio. Suzette gave me her spears of asparagus because she is avoiding pork on her diet.

We walked after dinner and then watched some news and started a Brazilian movie but stopped watching after about 1/2 hour because it was mean spirited with ridiculous humor.

I heated a Swedish dessert and drank a cup of tea with it .

At 10:00 Willy called and we talked to him for about twenty minutes and then went to bed.

It was a lovely  day. Mary and Tito’s is now my favorite New Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque.

If I am losing weight, which I think I am, it is easier than I thought it would be.

Bon Appetit
