July 24, 2025 Lunch - East Ocean. Dinner - Chicken Noodle Soup with Cauliflower and Broccoli
I awakened at 5:00 and watched Stage 18 of the Tour that was dominated by three high mountain climbs. An Australian O’Conner, rode away at 20 km. from the finish and won the stage almost 3 minutes ahead of the Yellow Jersey group of five remaining of the starting 177 riders.
I ate a chocolate croissant with a cup of tea at around 8:00 and rode a mile on the stationary bike while the riders were going up one of the mountains in the French Alps in the Haute Savoie.
I also watched the market open and was pleased that it was positive. I went to lunch at 11:15 and met Robert at East Ocean at 11:30. Yesterday Jody put a tire on the mini to replace the tire with the slow leak and it drove great today.
We ordered the same dish we always order, Deep Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables and rice. Robert is a vegetarian, so we always order the same dish and split it.
When I returned home I fetched the mail and there was a check in it.
I first checked my portfolio and the market, especially the tech sector had several stocks with gains that moved the NASDAQ and the S&P and my portfolio to new highs. My portfolio was up another .866%.
I need to move my stops up because the PE ratios and prices are getting frothy.
Then around 2:30 I walked to the bank and deposited the check.
When I returned I worked until 4:00 and then watched the news.
At 5:30 Suzette heated the chicken soup she made with the leftover chicken and added Thin Vermicelli sticks bought at the Middle Eastern market and about 1 1/2 cups each of broccoli and cauliflower flowerets.
The soup was closer to a stew as the soup absorbed and cooked the vermicelli.
It was delicious and we ate it with water.
We are getting deeper into a lower calorie diet, although Suzette ate one bowl of soup and I ate two.
After dinner we watched a movie on Netflix, the Lost Husband, that was formulaic but pleasant.
We went to bed at 10:00.
Bon Appetit
