July 19, 2025  Brunch - Bacon and Eggs with Toast.  Lunch - Leftover Scallops in Lobster Sauce with Rice. Dinner -  Smoked Trout Salad

Suzette did aerobics and worked on her Morrocan patio project while I watched a break away rider win the toughest Stage of the Tour today with over 16,000 feet of climbing up four mountains including the Tourmelet in the Pyrenees.  He was a Dutchman named Arensman who beat the two race leaders by over a minute. Tadej came second and Vingegaard came third.

At 9:00 Suzette made breakfast of fried bacon and eggs and I cut slices of cantaloupe and Suzette toasted me two slices of baguette.

Then at 10:00 we drove to Home Depot to get mastic tape to hold the glass panes on the wooden frames Suzette bought for her project.

Then we drove across the street to Costco and bought smoked tuna, mozzarella, asparagus, blueberries, cod, baby spinach, and cream.

We then returned home and at 12:30 ate the scallops in Lobster sauce over rice left from lunch Thursday.

I then lay down to read and nap and Suzette worked on her project.

At 4:30 I joined her and we secured one glass panel to a door that had clasps but the gorilla tape she bought did not hold the other larger glass panel because the wooden surface we were attaching it to was not flat. She will follow my suggestion to anchor the glass panel on supports to the panels.

After loading the chairs and  Christmas wreaths she bought at the estate sale we made dinner.

Suzette fetched the smoked trout left from our dinner Thursday night and we washed and spun lettuce from our garden and added croutons, sliced radishes, cucumber slices, and pickled beet and onion slices. Suzette made a wonderful honey mustard Mayo dressing.

The electricity went off so we prepped dinner and ate half of the meal by candle light until the electricity went back on.

I took a shower and blogged at 8:00 and then read in the bedroom that is the coolest room in the house.

Suzette is on a serious diet so we will probably be earring lots of salads in the near future.

Bon Appetit
