October 29, 2011 Brunch – Salad Nicoise and Dinner at the Greenhouse Bistro and Bakery

After a trip to the Farmers’ Market, where we bought honey, a pumpkin, an acorn squash and a butternut squash and cheddar cheese curds, we went home and I picked the tarragon in the garden and decided to make a Salad Nicoise with fresh tarragon dressing. So I boiled some small potatoes (Trader Joe’s) and eggs.

I then made a dressing with the leftover garlic greens sprig of parsley and fresh tarragon, grape seed oil and olive oil and some of last year’s homemade tarragon white wine vinegar.

I then assembled the Salad Nicoise with some organic salad greens from Costco, Kalamata Olives (Cafe Istanbul/Market), leftover roast beef (warmed in the microwave) the potatoes and onions and a bit of thinly slice onion.  We ate by the pond because it was a lovely warm sunny day. I did a bit of work while Suzette got things ready for her Monday management meeting.

Then I went to the Garden Gate Day Spa for a massage and Suzette worked for several hours.

Then after a soak in the hot tub and a swim, we changed and went to the Greenhouse Bistro and Bakery for a light dinner.

See review attached.

A pretty wonderful ageless day.
