June 6, 2026 Breakfast - Pain au Chocolate Lunch - Vinaigrette Dinner - Leftover Beef Stroganoff with Egg Noodles
We awakened around 6:30.
Suzette did aerobics in the hot tub and I watched Velshi and ate a pain au chocolate with a latte macchiato.
Then at 8:45 we rode bikes to the Farmer’s Market, where a Suzette bought two almond croissants and a regular croissant.
We then rode around the neighborhood that helped me accumulate over 4100 steps today.
When we returned we invited Willy over for an Almond croissants and a cup of coffee.
After he left we folded money into a flower shape-and Suzette tied the money flowers onto necklaces to make money leis.
At 11:30 Amy and Vahl arrived and we all went to Vinaigrette for lunch.
The funniest thing was that Amy and I both wanted Cajun Gumbo but when Amy asked if it contained okra the waitress said it did not and Amy ordered an arugula salad with grilled Pork tenderloin instead because she loves okra in her gumbo and could not think to order it without okra. Willy and Vahl ordered kale salad. Suzette ordered duck tacos and I ordered a bowl of Cajun Gumbo.
The Cajun Gumbo
Amy and I were surprised when the gumbo was served because it contained lots of okra. The waitress seemed clueless.
I especially enjoyed the gumbo, which I think is the best dish at Vinaigrette and not expensive at $9.00. We also ordered an order of focaccia that was served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar with bread plates. We made puddles of oil and vinegar on our bread plates and soaked the fluffy chunks of focaccia before eating them.
After lunch we all went to an open house of an inferior house on the edge of the Sawmill district north of Mountain Rd. In a Willy’s search for a house.
Then Amy and Vahl left for Santa Fe and Willy and we went home.
We finished making money necklaces and then I lay down for a nap. Suzette went shopping for clothes for our trip to California this week and returned around 5:30.
At 5:00 I watched the Belmont Stakes, which was won by Golden Tempo that also won the Kentucky Derby and is probably the fastest three year old.
We then snacked on pistachios and at 6:00 watched Texas played Oregon in the College World Series and Carolina played Las Vegas in the Stanley Cup finals game three that went to double overtime and did not end until after 10:00.
At 6:30 Suzette reheated the Beef Stroganoff and egg noodles and I opened a bottle of Bogle Heritage red blend that was mostly Zinfandel grapes.
The stroganoff was better tonight after sitting in the fridge for several days and the wine opened up after about 1/2 hour to express its normal pepperiness.
Suzette went to bed at 8:30 and I watched Bill Maher at 9:00 and then the final two overtime periods of the hockey match and at an apple.
Then I blogged antibiotic I am applying to my eyes seems to be working because I am feeling better and seeing better, which is wonderful
Then I blogged this entry.
Bon Appetit
