July 21, 2025 Lunch - Tamashi Japanese Restaurant - Pork Cutlet Curry. Dinner - White Bean and Chicken Stew with baby spinach
I awakened at 7:15 and watched the market open. I was encouraged but the momentum faded as the day progressed with NVDA losing almost a dollar by the end of the day. I checked the news about NVDA and was surprised that Jeh Sen Huang was selling massive amounts of stock that probably had two effects; a glut of stock on the market and a loss of confidence in the Company. NVDA went down $1.03 in after market trading, probably because of his adopted a plan to sell 6 million shares.
We walked two blocks and I began to weaken because I had not eaten anything.
When we returned Suzette went to work and I ate granola with milk, mango yogurt, and blueberries.
Then I made a lunch date with Aaron for 2:00 at Tamashi.
So at 11:00 to gain some energy I ate a chocolate croissant and a cup of chai. Then I went to Bill Turner’s at 11:30 and reviewed a file until 1:30.
Then I drove to Tamashi Japanese restaurant at 6400 Holly (there is another Tamashi on the West side) to meet Aaron for lunch.
He had suggested we go to Tamashi to try a dish he had had at a Japanese restaurant in NYC that is prepared in the same manner by Tamashi, Pork Cutlet Curry.
When it came I was reminded of the Spanish fried pork dish, Cachopa.
It was a pounded and breaded and deep fried pork cutlet served on a bed of rice on a deep plate half filled with Japanese curry sauce, $15.
We had a bad experience with Cachopa in Llantes, Spain, so I mixed some of the rice with the curry sauce and cut the strips of pork cutlet into bite sized pieces and mixed them into the rice and sauce. Then I only ate 1/2 of the dish. I found the dish interesting, not unlike a pork Schnitzel with curry flavored gravy.
I drank hot green tea with my dish.
Tamashi is a high end Japanese restaurant that I will try again.
I then drove home. When I arrived Suzette was at home watching HGTV. We discussed dinner and decided to eat more of the PPI white bean and chicken stew.
I was hot and tired so I lay down and read War with the Newts and rested until 6:00 when Suzette called me to dinner.
This was a PPI dinner because Suzette had added a handful of baby spinach to the bean stew that gave it an entirely different, lighter texture.
I drank a glass of the Mencia red I bought at Costco and Suzette drank a glass of the Gruner Vitliner I bought at Costco.
After dinner we watched Antiques Roadshow but it was a repeat episode so at 7:30 I lay down in bed and finished the book.
Then I went back around 8:30 and watched the last half of the second hour of Roadshow.
I then went to bed at 9:00 to blog with a cup of chai and Suzette soon followed.
Bon Appetit
