I ate a bagel with Lax and rode to Rio Bravo in the cool early sunlight.
At 11:30 I drove to Costco and ate a hot dog with a lemonade. Then I shopped a bit. I bought aluminum foil, Halibut, five wines, and a wheel of Brie, a three pack of Boursin, and some Serrano ham.
When Suzette came home at 4:00 we started prepping for dinner with Linda and T.R. Suzette tore double sheets of foil while I thinly julienned 1/3 pasilla chili and two carrots and cut thicker julienned slices of squash. Suzette cut the kernels from two ears of corn, and diced asparagus, and gathered verde lago that is growing in our driveway.
She then cut the fish into ¼ lb. filets and put one in each foil on pieces of squash, and then sprinkled each with chili and carrot threads and asparagus, corn and verde lago leaves and then drizzled white wine, and put a slice of lemon and a pat of butter on the pile of ingredients and wrapped the foil into sealed pockets.
When T.R. and Linda arrived, I cut melon into pieces and put prosciutto on the pieces as an appetizer. Then Suzette grilled the pockets and we ate them with beers and an Oakdale Sauvignon Blanc that I had bought at Walmart for $2.59 per bottle. I was an okay wine, amazingly.
We make the fish in foil dish with whatever we have. Tonight squash and asparagus with extra ingredients.
After dinner we drove to Marble Brewery and then Bow and Arrow to give them a mini brew pub tour.
We went home at 11:00.
Bon Appetit
