This was a pleasant and restful day. I watched soccer and then Sunday morning news programs until 9:30 when we decided to make BLT Sandwiches. While Suzette fried six slices of bacon, I toasted and spread mayo on seven slices of whole wheat bread and sliced a large slicing tomato I bought at Sprouts and a medium vine ripe tomato from Suzette’s garden in Los Lunas and stripped the green part from five or six stalks of Romaine lettuce. When the bacon was fried to crisp, Suzette drained the slices on a paper towel and I made three open face sandwiches and Suzette made two BLT sandwiches.
I drank chai and Suzette mares Bloody Mary by mixing tomatoes, Worcheshire sauce and some horseradish, a stalk of celery, and a dash of Tabasco in the Cuisinart and added some vodka.
After breakfast I drove to Donut Mart and picked up four bagels and 8 oz. of cream cheese and then drove to Goodwill where we picked up two umbrella stands. We then drove to Costco where Suzette filled two baskets full of cleaning supplies and drinks and food for a wedding next weekend at the Center for Ageless Living.
When we returned home at 1:00 I was hungry, so I sautéed three slices of Jimmie Dean sausage and two eggs over easy and toasted a slice of whole wheat Dinner roll and buttered it and spread some lemon curd of it and then lay slices of Jarlsberg cheese on it and drank another cup of chai with it for my lunch.
I rested and at 5:00 started cooking dinner. We decided to make a stir fry of vegetables with about ½ lb. of chopped BBQ Pork cut from the ribs we cooked a few days ago plus Baby Bok Choy, corn, yellow squash, Chanterelle Mushrooms, and Leeks. Suzette made an oriental BBQ sauce with oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar. It was delicious and the corn kernels made up for the lack of rice.
Later I ate some vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and maraschino cherries.
At 10:00 Luke called and I picked him up at the airport. We had a cup of tea and went to bed.
Bon Appetit
