I over ate and over drank last night and I did not get out of bed until 11:30.
But Suzette was up early and made a beef broth from the PPI rib roast. Then she made a Cream of Vegetable soup from the PPI roasted vegetables from Christmas. Then she cleaned out the refrigerator. Then she went to the freezer in the garage looking for pork and sauerkraut and found three likely suspects, one of which was pork and sauerkraut and the other two were pork and cabbage.
Since eating pork and sauerkraut is a tradition in Suzette’s family on New Year’s Day , she made mashed potatoes and added some fresh Napa cabbage to the pork and sauerkraut to freshen it up for dinner. My stomach was not up to pork and sauerkraut, so I filled a bowl with mashed potatoes, some of the boiled beef and broth and carrots from the beef broth and added a dab of cold horseradish cream sauce for a light digestible dinner.

Suzette’s Pork and Sauerkraut
After dinner I peeled and cubed three red beets and Suzette pickled them and added several eggs to made pickled beets and hard boiled eggs.
We ate a few Buffet’s candies and watched the OU vs. Georgia play off game and went to bed by 8:00.
So much for an exciting New Year’s Eve and Day.
The most exciting thing we did was sit by the fire place and warm ourselves.
Bon Appetit
