This was a day of extremes from great heights to the
very lowest common denominator.
We started out with a brunch of scrambled eggs made
with 4 eggs and the PPI Lobster American (Homard À L’ Américaine) and about 2
Tbsp. of cottage cheese and 2 tsp. of tarragon and 1 green onion cooked in 1
Tbsp. of butter. When the eggs were
nearly finished cooking, Suzette and I looked at each other without speaking and
agreed instantly that we needed champagne, so we opened a bottle of Gruet Blanc
de Noir and Suzette toasted a fresh bolillo.
We fetched an open bottle of Smucker’s blueberry preserves from the
fridge and had a lovely brunch on the patio.
At noon I went to lunch at Standard Diner with Ricardo. He ordered fish and chips and I ordered the
meatloaf sandwich with a couscous salad that had a mixture of corn kernals,
cilantro, two kinds of Israeli couscous and quinoa. We each drank a bottle of Negra Modelo. I loved the meatloaf sandwich with its slab of bacon wrapped meatloaf and large slices of ripe tomato.
After work, we went to Costco for dinner and to buy
a few things, such as bottle of rum (Bacardi gold 1.75 liter for $16.99 and a
1.75 liter bottle of Canadian Whiskey for $12.99) and for Willy’s party 12
large ripe tomatoes and a package of fresh Mozzarella packed in water, because
Suzette wanted to make a Caprese Salad and 2 quarts of Heavy Cream for the
peach and mango ice cream and portabella mushrooms for the lasagna and three
jars of Cervantes Green Chili Sauce and a seedless watermelon ($4.99) to use to
make a fruit salad.
After we shopped we were ready to eat. Suzette ordered a piece of pizza and I
ordered a Polish Dog. If you love food,
you can eat lobster for breakfast and hot dog or pizza for dinner and be happy
after both meals.
When we got home around 8:00 p.m. we made the green
tomatillo sauce for the enchiladas and I cut up three mangos and about seven
peaches and we refrigerated them.
Bon Appetit
