October 30, 2025 Breakfast - Steak, Shallot, beech mushroom, and Manchego Omelet. Lunch - Monroe’s with Book Club. Dinner - Mapo Dofu with Rice
I woke up at 7:00 Suzette was watching Squawk on the Street and I immediately noticed that Meta was down almost $100 per share at $655, which was $40.00 below the price I sold 200 shares for a couple of months ago.
We called Willy who was watching the market also and approved the trade, so at 7:45 I bought 150 shares at $660 and put in a limit order for another 100 shares at $656, which also filled.
Then I made a Steak, Shallot, beech mushroom, and Manchego Omelet that was delicious.
I puttered around at my desk after I got dressed and at 11:00 went to Charlie’s, who drove us to Monroe’s for lunch with the book club.
Paul and I sat by each other and ordered a Carne Adovada platter with corn tortillas, Calabacitas and refried beans. It was delicious but I could only eat half of it. The corn tortillas were delicious, soft and warm. They may the meal great, so I did not mind paying the extra $1.00.
Charlie and I decided we had made enough money in the last few days to not worry about any food costs.
Charlie ordered fajita quesadillas, Karl ordered burrito with green chili that filled a large platter.
After lunch we returned to Charlie’s house for our discussion of perhaps Philip Roth’s best novel, The Human Stain. It was a far reaching discussion that lasted for about two hours.
I was pleased that Susan had bought a bottle of Archery Summit Vireton Pinot Gris, so I opened that and served it with ice. Susan had also made butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies that were delicious.
After the meeting Susan and Charlie served slices of a delicious pumpkin cheese cake from Costco.
When I returned home I checked the market. The good news was that Meta closed at $674, so a slight gain on that trade. The bad news was that the NASDAQ was down 377 points and my portfolio was down 1.67%. Although a big loss, my portfolio sits at its third highest close.
The big news was that my complaint for Restitution was accepted and filed and I am ready to get it served tomorrow morning.
At 4:30 when Suzette arrived I helped her load the Christmas dishes, mugs, bowls, and glasses to take to the Center.
I made a limeade and watched the expelling of Prince Andrew from English royalty and then lay down and blogged this blog.
I will later eat a bowl of an excellent Mapo Dofu I made last night. Suzette ate some and loved it.
Tonight is my second favorite night of PBS shows, Midsomer Mystery and Foyle’s War, so I am excited.
Suzette opened the Halloween candy and put it into the large basket for trick or treaters, so we each ate a small Reese’s Cup.
It does not take much of a food sin to make one who is on a diet happy.
Bon Appetit
