This was a 2 and ½ meal food day.
I called and invited Willy to view the Premier League matches and he came by a bit before the Everton v. Liverpool match at 9:20 began. I sliced three slices of Lax for each of Suzette, Willy and me. Suzette cooked hers into and egg and Willy and I each ate ours on a bagel with cream cheese and slices of red onion.
Willy left after the spectacular finish at the end of overtime when Pickford, the Everton goalie, mishandled an errant kick over the crossbar that allowed the ball to come down onto the head of a Liverpool player, who headed it in for a Liverpool victory that kept Liverpool within 1 point of the top of the Premier League.
After the match I showered and we left at 11:50 for the Pegasus Jewelry extravaganza held at Bosque Prep. Suzette and I picked lots of cheap jewelry, only one piece of which I think was a dud for a total cost of $125.00. The most expensive item Suzette selected was a garnet bead necklace and matching earrings for $36 and the most expensive item I purchased were ten Buffalo nickel button covers for $22.00. Here is a picture.
We drove to REI where I bought a pair of sunglasses to protect my eyes from sunlight glare, per my new eye doctor’s orders. They did seem to immediately help against the harsh sunlight.
We then drove to Staples to post a Chanukah gift to Rebecca but Suzette decided against sending the package due to the cost.
We then drove home, stopping at Lowe’s for a package of cream cheese, arriving a bit before 4:00.
Like called and said he was coming by and Suzette texted Willy to tell him we were cooking dinner. Suzette came up with the menu yesterday when we were shopping at Sprouts: Seared Aji Tuna steak,
Stir Fried Eggplant in Garlic Sauce, and steamed Green Beans, when we bought an eggplant and a 1.3 lb. tuna steak. Today I sliced the eggplant into 2 inch by ½ inch slices which Suzette stir fried in peanut oil to cook. While she was frying the eggplant strips, Suzette made the seasoning sauce and I diced a small onion and a head of garlic and about one T. of ginger and made 1 cup of rice. We then snapped the tough end of the green beans and steamed them and Suzette stir fried the onion, garlic, and ginger after she finished frying the eggplant. She then added the seasoning sauce to the wok and then the fried eggplant to coat it with sauce while she was searing the tuna in a separate iron skillet in oil with a bit of garlic.
Luke arrived at 6:30 and Willy arrived at 7:00, just as we were starting to eat and joined us. Here is a picture of Suzette’s and my plate. Suzette’s is the one without rice.
After dinner we looked at jewelry and I helped Luke write a letter to terminate the purchase of the house he had written an offer on.
We said goodnight to Luke and Willy a bit before 8:00 and I ate a piece of chocolate cake with a cup of green tea and then lay down and read and went to bed at 8:00.
Bon Appetit
