I tried to take Bea to lunch at La Salita but it was closed,
so we drove to Café Trang.
We started by ordering an order of Spring Rolls with shrimp,
lovely in their translucent rice wrappers.
Then I ordered No. 44 Bun Cha Gio, rice vermicelli, shredded
lettuce and cucumbers, roasted peanuts, pickled daikon and carrot salad, fried
egg rolls with pork and strips of grilled pork with a fish sauce dressing. Bea ordered fried shrimp and we both ordered
Vietnamese drip coffees with condensed milk.
We loved lunch and then went shopping at TaLin.
Suzette arrived home late Monday evening and so Tuesday evening
we ate microwaved PPI paella (see September 26, 2014 for recipe) with a toss
salad in the garden with a bottle of 2013 Buti Nages rosé from Nimes; a
delicious blend of 60% grenache and 40% Syrah ($10.99 at Total Wine) from
Chateau de Nages, produced in the Costieres de Nimes Appellation Controllee in France's southern Rhone Valley.
Bon Appétit
